Nickelodeon Announces A Selection Of "Kids' Choice Sports 2014" Nominees

The Associated Press is reporting the exciting Nickelodeon News in the following article, from The Times Colonist, that Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids and families, has today, Wednesday 21st May 2014, announced a selection of the nominees for Nickelodeon's first-ever "Kids' Choice Sports" awards show, due to be telecast live on Thursday 17th July 2014 from UCLA's Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles!

The categories range from serious to fun, and Tennis star Serena Williams has been nominated as Best Female Athlete, along with Best Cannon for her powerful serves, Queen of Swag for her sense of style and Superstar Siblings with her sister, Venus Williams.

Basketball star Skylar Diggins has been nominated for Favorite Newcomer, Clutch Player of the Year and Queen of Swag.

The nominees for the first-ever "Kids' Choice Sports" were chosen by a popularity poll and a expert council consisting of influencers in the sporting world. Members of the committee include: Baron Davis (former New York Knicks and two-time NBA All-Star); Ken Griffey Jr. (former baseball outfielder and 13-time All-Star); Lisa Leslie (former WNBA MVP and four-time Olympic gold medal winner); Cal Ripken Jr. (former shortstop and third baseman for the Baltimore Orioles and 19-time All-Star); Deion Sanders (NFL Pro Football Hall of Famer); Misty May-Treanor (three-time Olympic beach volleyball gold medalist); Andy Elkin (Agent, Creative Artists Agency); Tracy Perlman (VP Entertainment Marketing and Promotions, NFL); Jeff Schwartz (President and Founder, Excel Sports Management); Jill Smoller (SVP, William Morris Endeavor); Leah Wilcox (VP, Talent Relations, NBA); Alan Zucker (SVP, IMG Clients Group); Michael Phelps (most decorated Olympian of all time); Tony Hawk (professional skateboarder) and Zane Stoddard (VP, Entertainment Marketing and Content Development, NASCAR).

Voting for the 2014 "Kids' Choice Sports" awards will open on Thursday 12th June 2014, allowing NickHeads to begin casting their votes online.

Set to take place Thursday 17th July 2014 at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, "Kids' Choice Sports 2014" will follow Nickelodeon's "Kids' Choice Awards" legacy to honor kids' favorite athletes, teams and sports moments from the year in one big, slimy sports celebration. In true Nickelodeon spirit, the event will also feature a daring, slime-filled sports stunt performed on a star athlete's home turf, a special halftime live musical performance and top athletes competing outside their sports realm for a KCS trophy.

Nickelodeon UK To Encore "The Legend of Korra: Book 1" In July 2014

Nickelodeon UK has announced on their official "Legend of Korra" show website, nick.co.uk/legendofkorra, the very exciting news that Nickelodeon's popular original animated series "The Legend of Korra" will be returning to Nickelodeon UK and Ireland and Nickelodeon HD UK's schedules on Monday 14th July 2014 at 8:30pm (repeated at 9:30pm on Nick UK's plus-one timeshift channel, Nick+1)!

UPDATE - Nickelodeon UK will be encoring season one of "The Legend of Korra", "Book One: Air", from Monday 14th July 2014, and not be debuting "Book Two: Spirits" as previously speculated.

Although not confirmed, as Nick UK's July 2014 air date for return of "The Legend of Korra" is around a year from when Nick UK premiered the first season of "Legend of Korra", titled "Book One: Air", the air date mentioned on Nick UK's official TLoK website could be the date of when Nickelodeon UK and Ireland and Nickelodeon HD UK will start to premiere and show the second season of "The Legend of Korra", titled "Book Two: Spirits"!

Bandai UK and Ireland To Showcase New "Power Rangers Super Megaforce" Toy Line At Toymaster 2014; Series To Debut On UK TV During Summer 2014

TOYMASTER 2014: Bandai highlights Power Rangers line ahead of new TV series

Joining Power Rangers on the booth will be the latest additions to the Pac-Man, Ben 10 and Digimon lines.

With the new Power Rangers Super Megaforce TV series airing this summer, Bandai will be showcasing its range of action figures, Megazords and role-play at this year's Toymaster show, as well as offering a special launch deal to include a number of free Power Rangers figures.

Joining Power Rangers on the booth will be the latest additions to the Pac-Man, Ben 10 and Digimon lines, compete with some 'special half price offers'.

Another show highlight will be the chance to see the new designs for the Tamagotchi Digital Friend, with all six on display for the first time in the UK.

Customers will also be shown the figure and playset toy line extension as the Tamagotchi characters in the device screen become available in collectable form across a variety of different pack types.

Finally, there will also be a show deal on the Locksies by Harumika FSDU for those interested in the latest creative range of dolls and rooms for young designers to dress and decorate.
