Nickelodeon Australia And New Zealand Announces Winning Team Of "Camp Orange: Force 10"
Please Note - This NickALive! blog post contains a spoiler about which team won the aweslime title of "Champ Orange" as voted by Aussie and Kiwi Nickheads in the 2014 series (season 10) of Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand's adventure reality series for best friends, "Camp Orange", called "Camp Orange: Force 10", that some NickALive! readers may prefer to avoid. Please scroll down the page if you wish to continue.
This year, ten daring kids take on ten epic challenges for an adventure of a life-slime that's been ten years in the making for "Camp Orange: FORCE 10!"!
Over the past couple of months, Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand viewers and "Camp Orange" fans have been watching the five teams of this years (2014) series of "Camp Orange", Nickelodeon's adventure reality show for best friends, called "Camp Orange: Force 10" - the Mighty Mermaids, the girls in pink, featuring Millie and Sammy from New South Wales (NSW); the M Tastics, the wacky besties in purple, featuring Mika and Marian from Australian Capital Territory (ACT); the Kiwi Cuzzies, the boys in green, featuring Zion and Kaha from Bay of Plenty in New Zealand (NZ); the Twisted Twins, the bright brothers in yellow, featuring Luke and Josh from New South Wales (NSW), and the Joco Locos, the adventurous amigos in blue, featuring Coco and Josh from Auckland, New Zealand (NZ) - experiencing the ultimate adventure of a lifetime, through a sea of super soaked adrenaline surging challenges, playing some of the toughest "Camp Orange" games ever invented, such as Squid Marks, Clam Dunk, Hop, Skip, Splat!, Grabby Patty Razor Rally, Hurly Burly, Puffer Fish Bubble Blast, Room Service Rampage, Flying Fish Frenzy, Ice Berg Bash, and Peng-tathlon, and The Mega Challenge, a challenge this year devised by Nickelodeon Star Matt Bennett ("Victorious"), battling it out in an effort to win the votes of viewers and fans' at home in the hope of being crowned the ultimate winners of "Camp Orange" - "Champ Orange" - the team which Nick AU & NZ viewers thought showed the best teamwork, were the most honorable, played the fairest, and helped everybody else out. Proving they've got guts (and possibly gills), Nickelodeon's Campers braved depths, speeds, slime and heights as they played for money-can't-buy rewards.
Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand then counted up all the viewers' votes, and at the end of the exciting finale of "Camp Orange: Force 10", which Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand premiered on Tuesday 15th July 2014, Nickelodeon Australia & New Zealand's ASTRA Award winning hosts Luke & Wyatt (Luke Ryan & Wyatt Nixon-Lloyd) gathered the CO campers around the campfire to announce which team received the most votes and has been voted the winner of "Champ Orange". Only one lucky Camp Orange team can win the title of "Champ Orange", and that team is...
The boys in green, the Kiwi Cuzzies - Zion and Kaha from Bay of Plenty in New Zealand (NZ)!
Congratulations!!
After Luke, Wyatt and Matt unveiled the winners of "Camp Orange: Force 10", there was only ONE way to end another epic, force-tastic and aweslime series of "Camp Orange" – SLIME FIGHT!!:
Kids at home can also check out behind the scenes and other exclusive added content online, including special online streaming video clips, at camporange.com.au!

For the second time in Camp Orange history, Champ Orange Australia and New Zealand has been decided by Aussie and Kiwi kids who have been watching all the action at home. This year, viewers chose the team that they deemed the best and fairest to take the honour by casting their vote on camporange.com.au.
As part of "Camp Orange" 2014, Nickelodeon (Nick) celebrated a milestone ten years of its multi-awarded, local production, now classed as the longest running kids' reality series in Australia, by turning up the slime to give campers the adventure of a life-slime!
For the second consecutive year, the series was set at Sea World on the Gold Coast - the perfect location for the messy, festy challenges Nickelodeon had in store for the five teams ahead. This year, a record 7,000 kids entered to be a part of this year's CO adventure, all wanting the chance to be crowned "Champ Orange" – the best and fairest team of the series, voted by NickHeads watching at home.
For "Camp Orange: Force 10", Nickelodeon Star Matt Bennett, who plays Robbie Shapiro in Nick's hit live-action musical comedy series "Victorious", made his very first ever trip down under to guest host "Camp Orange: Force 10" alongside Logie nominated and ASTRA award winning "Camp Orange" hosts, Luke Ryan & Wyatt Nixon-Lloyd!
The Australian actor and television presenter Luke Jacobz and the Australian singer-songwriter and dancer Timomatic (Tim Omaji) were also amongst the string of celebrities to tackle the most twisted, gut wrenching and gross challenges in the show's history - making surprise cameos to either help or hinder teams. Adding to the star power, this year's Wrong Town Dinner recipes (foul feasts that nominated teams must chow down each night) were concocted by U.S. stars from Nickelodeon's brand-new live-action comedy series' "The Haunted Hathaways" and "The Thundermans"!
After arriving at Sea World, hosts, Luke and Wyatt turned Nick's "Camp Orange 2014" campers into walking calamari in the very first challenge, Squid Marks. In a Camp Orange 10th birthday surprise, and the first of many twists, Matt Bennett surprises the campers (and Luke and Wyatt!) as a guest host, before joining a mega aweslime slime fight! At "Wrong Town Dinner", the Human Dinner Spinner was unveiled and spun to select the team deemed to gorge on Tastebud Torment, a recipe made by celebrity guest chef, Nickelodeon Star Amber Montana, who plays Taylor Hathaway in "Haunted Hathaways"!
Nickelodeon Australia is available to watch via Foxtel on Channel 701 and Fetch TV on Channel 146.

Nickelodeon finds 24% of kids are 'social sharers'Below is a video report of Nickelodeon UK Research And Insights' "Me, My Selfie & I" findings, filmed at Nickelodeon UK's offices at Hawley Crescent in Camden, London:
Viacom-owned children's TV channel Nickelodeon has found that 24 per cent of UK children are so-called 'social sharers', in a study that explores how they use digital devices and the roles they play in their lives.
The research, Me, My Selfie & I, which questioned 1,000 children between the ages of six and 11 identified four 'digital tribes' or groups of kids differentiated by how they used digital media.
A total 32 per cent of children interviewed fell into the 'playful newbie' category, made up of 53 per cent girls, while 23 per cent of children had 'digital discoverer' behaviours, dominated by boys at 61 per cent.
A further 21 per cent were put in the 'games master' tribe, skewed towards boys who accounted for 68 per cent of the total. Nearly a quarter (24 per cent) of the respondents were 'social sharers', with boys very slightly dominating at 52 per cent.
"What Me, My Selfie & I reveals is that the ways kids use and feel about devices is more complex than current advertising models may allow for," said John Conlon, vice president, UK research and insight, Viacom International Media Networks.
"Transcending gender or age, kids' usage and engagement with devices is defined by their need to discover, play, communicate, create and share. With this insight, content producers, promotional partners and sales teams can reach audiences in a more effective and meaningful way."
In addition to the identification of these groups, the research also found that there is a clear hierarchy of screens within UK households with kids preferring devices with larger screens. The TV remains the top device used for entertainment by UK kids with tablets and laptops also rating favourably.

"I can't wait to come back to Australia to get completely drenched in the green stuff and celebrate Slimefest with my home country," Cody Simpson said. "Aussie kids really know how to get messy and have fun." Cody Simpson's hits include "On My Mind" and the Australian singer currently has five million Twitter followers. Australia's dance troupe Justice Crew started from humble beginnings in Sydney's western suburbs and the seven-member outfit became one of 2010's hottest talking points when they won "Australia's Got Talent". With the series win, they collected the $250,000 victor's prize cheque and a contract with Sony Music. The troupe tipped cash into a band fund and invested in Justice Academy Inc, a program which helps disadvantaged young Australians work on their confidence, self-expression and team-building skills by hosting free dance workshops and classes. All seven members are hands-on at the Justice Academy, which uses music and dance to empower future generations. Age is no barrier. Justice Crew have performed around Australia and recently travelled the US supporting Pitbull and Ke$ha. Justice Crew recently broke the record as the longest running Australian act at No. 1 on the ARIA singles charts for their hit single, "Que Sera".
Soul star Timomatic (Tim Omaji) is a Nigerian-born Australian singer-songwriter and dancer. Timomatic rose to fame as a contestant on "So You Think You Can Dance" (Australia) in 2009 and placed seventh in the competition. In 2011, he appeared as a contestant on the fifth season of "Australia's Got Talent" and was placed third. Later that year, Timomatic signed with Sony Music Australia and released his first single, "Set It Off", in November 2011, which peaked at number two on the ARIA Singles Chart and was certified four times platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association. Timomatic recently guest-starred in the tenth season of Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand's adventure reality series for best friends, "Camp Orange: Force 10".
To make sure that their third annual SLIMEFEST event is the biggest, bestest and and slimiest SLIMEFEST ever to give attendees the slime of their life, Nick AU will take over the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre in Sydney (SYD), New South Wales (NSW) on Friday 26th September 2014 to hold their first SLIMEFEST concert, then will be taking all the slimy action on the road to Melbourne (MEL) to hold a second SLIMEFEST concert at the State Netball Hockey Centre in Parkville, Victoria (VIC)! Nickelodeon Confirms "Sam & Cat" Officially Cancelled
The entertainment industry news magazine The Wrap is reporting that Nickelodeon has announced the unfortunate news that the networks hit original comedy series "Sam & Cat" has officially been canceled after just one season after the shows stars Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy decided to leave the production to follow other career opportunities and paths. So the news is out about Sam & Cat. I felt it wasn't my place to make any sort of announcement so I kept quiet until now. I want to thank Nickelodeon for making a childhood dream of mine come true, for being a family to me, for being so accommodating and supportive of my multitasking with my music career, and for of course introducing me to many of my fans however many years ago. I want to thank Dan Schneider (@DanWarp) for allowing me to play such a special, beautiful character who I hid behind for so long. What I mean by that is when I was younger, people loved Cat so much I used to pretend to be more like her. It took me a long time to be brave enough to separate myself and show people how different we actually are.... I think that's honestly because I admire her so much. Her appreciation for life and everybody she encounters. Her passion and genuine excitement for the little things that most people dread like school projects and work. She always saw negative obstacles as opportunities to make things good.UPDATE (7/13) - From Deadline.com:
I will always hold Cat near and dear to my heart and appreciate her help in my personal growth from teenager to adult. I know she seems like a simple, daft character (and she is) but she played such a huge part in my life I just wanted to express my appreciation for her and share some of the things I love most about her. I think a lot of people could take a page out of her book...... she wouldn't judge anybody by their appearance.... she believed the best in people.... she wasn't afraid of anything or anybody.... she never let people's judgements hold her back from doing what she wanted, acting how she wanted, dressing how she wanted wanted, dying her hair however she wanted... she never held back her enthusiasm or joy for fear of appearing some sort of way or for fear of jinxing the good that is real (which is something I personally do all the time but I wish I could shake that and celebrate every little thing like she does).
One of my favorite things about Cat was that she never lost her sense of wonder. As we grow up we become more and more jaded and fearful of how we come across. We hold back a little more, protect ourselves a little more and although Cat goes through the same ridicule as anybody else does growing up, she never changed or lost her childlike wonder. To me that's the bravest, most special thing about her. She actually reminds me a lot of Frankie in that way.
So I know a lot of people will think this is a lot for some 'dumb' kids show character.... but to me she is actually a lot smarter, stronger and braver than all the rest of us.
Hopefully we'll find out one day if Cat & Robbie ever got married. If I had any say in the story from here on out I'd make sure they were happily married with sweet, eccentric, Jewish, artificially red headed babies. Cat would constantly find herself reminding Aunt Sam to leave the butter sock and other dangerous weapons out of the house. They'd live down the street from Jade and Beck, also happily married with purple and black haired, pale, grungy, beautiful, goth babies. :)
Thank you to the cast and crew who I spent almost every day with for a good 4 or 5 years. Thanks for lighting us beautifully, shooting us beautifully, making the most incredible props, yelling at us when we were running late to set, keeping us on track and most of all for making it such a positive work environment. The guys behind the scenes couldn't have been more pleasant or hard working and I appreciate them for that so much. I can't imagine that there is a more pleasant or professional crew in Hollywood.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to a true friend of mine, Dan Schneider. I will never take these memories or lessons learned for granted.
Lastly, thank you to my fans who have been with me since all of this started... you are the most loyal, dedicated and continuously loving supporters I could ever imagine. We've been through so much and you are still here... and we've got a long way to go. :)
Thank you for believing in me, accepting me and loving me. I love you forever.
Nickelodeon's 'Sam & Cat' To End Run After One Season
After being put on a “permanent hiatus” in April following some behind-the-scene drama, Nickelodeon hit comedy series Sam & Cat has been being officially cancelled, with promos for the last produced episode, No. 36, #Getting Wiggy, calling it a series finale. “Nickelodeon will not be producing more episodes of Sam & Cat,” the network said in a statement. “We are very proud of the show and its very talented cast and we wish them all the best.”
Sam & Cat had been a runaway success by any measure. The series, from proven hitmaker Dan Schneider, brought together two popular characters from two popular Nick series – iCarly's Sam Puckett and Victorious' Cat Valentine — played by two of the network's best-known stars and best friends, Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande, respectively. The series has been a ratings hit, quickly becoming Nickelodeon’s highest-rated series. Last July, only a month into Sam & Cat’s run, Nick doubled its freshman order from 20 to 40 episodes. Its hourlong Jan. 18 episode drew 4.8 million total viewers.
But as production went on for Sam & Cat‘s 40-episode first season, rumors started circulating about discord on the set, with emotions running high and McCurdy and Grande sometimes showing up late. The grueling, 40-episode shoot had been taxing on everyone. Additionally, McCurdy had been going through a difficult time in her personal life for the past six months and recently had to deal with the leak of racy photos, while Grande’s music career has taken off big time. Both have been at Nickelodeon for a long time, McCurdy for more than seven years and Grande for more than four. Both are entering adulthood, and word is both were feeling constrained at kids-focused Nickelodeon and are ready to move on.
Things came to a head in late March when McCurdy publicly accused Nickelodeon of unfair treatment. She also fueled speculation about a rift with her longtime best friend Grande by un-following Grande on social media and not joining her co-star at Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards. A few days later, production on the series was shut down with four episodes from Season 1 left to shoot. They will not be filmed, and there will not be a second season either. Meanwhile, Nick is in production on the new comedy series from Schneider, the 20-episode Henry Danger.
