Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) recently relaunched their localized Nickelodeon HD channel on Saturday 18th July 2015 as a simulcast feed of the main Nickelodeon channel!

Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) recently announced the nominations for "Meus Prêmios Nick 2015", Nickelodeon's Brazil's 16th annual local version of the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards!

Hosted by comedian and voice actor Fabio Porchat in October 2015 at Citibank Hall in São Paulo, kids can choose who will take home a coveted orange blimp in 17 categories such as favorite TV presenter, favourite band, favorite TV show, among others. The awards ceremony will also feature special musical performances!

Nickelodeon Germany To Premiere "Make It Pop" On Monday 30th November 2015

The Nickelodeon Germany fan Facebook page "Nick News" is reporting the exciting Nickelodeon International news that Nickelodeon Germany (Deutschland) will start to premiere and show Nickelodeon's brand-new musical comedy series "Make It Pop" every Monday to Friday from Monday 30th November 2015 (transmission (TX) air times to be announced)!

What do an aspiring pop diva, a fashionista and a book worm have in common? Music! "Make It Pop" (20 episodes) is a comedic, music-infused daily strip about three unique girls who come together to start their own K-Pop-inspired band. Randomly selected to room together at the at Mackendrick Prep boarding school, bookish Corki (Erika Tham), fashion-forward Jodi (Louriza Tronco) and social media maven Sun Hi (Megan Lee) meet and bond over music. With the help of fellow classmate and aspiring DJ, Caleb (Dale Whibley), the girls grow from roommates to bandmates when they form their new group, XO-IQ. Can they achieve pop stardom in a school where academics come first and the arts come last? How will these rising stars balance music, grades, relationships and crushes? There's only one way to find out! Get ready for fun, drama, and musical comedy with a K-pop twist and an EDM beat! The series, which features original songs and performances in every episode, is co-created by Thomas W. Lynch and Nick Cannon and produced by DHX Media. Nickelodeon recently ordered a twenty episode second season of "Make It Pop".

The Nickelodeon Germany fan Facebook page "Nick News" is reporting the exciting Nickelodeon International news that Nickelodeon Germany (Deutschland) will start to premiere and show Nickelodeon's brand-new original animated comedy series (NickToon) "Pig Goat Banana Cricket" weekdays from October 2015, as part of Nickelodeon Germany's Autumn (Herbst)/Winter (Winterreifen) 2015 programming highlights!

"Pig Goat Banana Cricket" follows four friends nature never intended - a pickle-obsessed Pig, a Goat with musical dreams, a Banana who loves video games and a Cricket with a crazy science lab — in Boopelite City, a gigantic, fantastical metropolis unlike anything you've seen before; where fruit can walk, animals can talk, the sidewalks are crammed with animals, robots and sea creatures, and you can find all your pickle needs at the downtown Picklemart! The quad are roommates in a treehouse, which sits in the middle of the city, surrounded by the forest, seas and everywhere else the foursome could possibly go.

From surviving a fudge-pocalypse to challenging Prince Mermeow in the underwater city of Catlantis, Pig, Goat, Banana and Cricket often find themselves in sticky situations... but wherever these four friends go, they always know where they'll end up: TOGETHER!

"Pig Goat Banana Cricket" is created by Dave Cooper and Johnny Ryan, established comic artists who worked on several issues of Nickelodeon Magazine, and executive produced by David Sacks ("The Simpsons", "Regular Show") who co-writes with J. Ryan. Dave Cooper also art directs the series and the pilot was directed by independent animator Nick Cross.

Although unconfirmed, it is expected that other Nickelodeon channels around Northern Europe will debut "Pig Goat Banana Cricket" around the same time.

Nickelodeon UK To Debut "Gnomeo & Juliet" On Friday 21st August 2015

The online British and Irish TV guide website LocateTV is reporting the exciting Nick UK news that, to celebrate the summer holidays, Nickelodeon UK and Ireland and Nickelodeon HD UK will debut the popular CG-animated movie "Gnomeo & Juliet" on Friday 21st August 2015 at 6:30pm, as part of Nick Flicks!

Following the films debut, Nick UK & Eire/HD will encore "Gnomeo & Juliet" on Saturday 22nd August 2015 at 7:00pm and on Sunday 23rd August 2015 at 7:00am!

In "Gnomeo & Juliet", set in the gardens of fair Verona Drive, we witness the blossoming romance of two young gnomes, Gnomeo (James McAvoy) and Juliet (Emily Blunt), amidst a turf war between the reds and the blues. Between the high-speed lawnmower chases and stealth missions, hearts (and hats) are broken, loyalties are tested and garden boundaries drawn, but can true gnomance conquer all? When your best friends are an over-excitable frog, a lovelorn flamingo, a loyal mushroom, a team of Bond-esque bunnies and a dopey fawn, there's a shedload of fun and adventure around every plant pot!

The miniature monuments are voiced by massive household names including James McAvoy, Emily Blunt, Matt Lucas, Maggie Smith, Michael Caine, Stephen Merchant, Ashley Jensen, Jason Statham and Ozzy Osbourne to gnome a few! Featuring classic and original songs by Elton John and directed by Kelly Asbury ("Shrek 2") "Gnomeo and Juliet" is a great love story...with a very small difference. The movie is based on the famous William Shakespeare play "Romeo and Juliet".

New Initiative Will Provide Free Magazines to Libraries That Support Graphic Novel Programming

Budget-crunched librarians will soon be receiving some respite thanks to a new program from Papercutz. The "#1 kids' graphic novel publisher" announced today that they will be supplying 100 free copies of NICKELODEON MAGAZINE to libraries that support comics programming. It's part of an effort by the publisher to fuel a growing trend in the school and public library space– "ComicCons" and other events focused on the fastest growing category in publishing – graphic novels.

"Librarians have been on the forefront of the graphic novel explosion", explained Papercutz's President, Terry Nantier. "And forward thinking librarians have tapped in to the interest surrounding events like Free Comic Book day and ComicCon International to attract kids and parents to their facilities. We think it's an incredibly positive thing for graphic novels in general and we wanted to find a way to 'give back' to the community. With the launch of NICKELODEON MAGAZINE this summer, we realized we had the perfect vehicle to promote comics readership and help librarians connect with kids who might be just beginning to become graphic novel readers."

Comic book conventions are well known for a variety of attractions including creator appearances, costumes and, of course, exclusive promotional material from publishers. While many librarians have reached out to the comics creative community for appearances at events and patrons have picked up the costuming challenge, promotional items have been handled on an ad hoc basis, depending on the largesse of publishers or individual creators. This new program ensures that no comics-themed event will have to do without giveaways that incentivize reading.

"Nickelodeon has always been known for creating great comics material", noted Papercutz Editor-in-Chief Jim Salicrup. "And we're proud to continue that tradition with our new publication. I'm personally excited by the opportunity to get the great work of our writers and artists out in front of the biggest possible audience possible. The magazine is going to be a great way for kids to sample our graphic novels and be introduced to some of the fantastic Nickelodeon characters."

Interested librarians simply need to contact Papercutz VP of Marketing, Sven Larsen six to eight weeks before their event. As soon as Papercutz receives a librarian's request (including details of the planned event) they will dispatch 100 copies of the latest issue of NICKELODEON MAGAZINE absolutely free (the library just has to pay for shipping).

"Papercutz graphic novels are already some of the highest circulating titles in libraries", explained Larsen, VP of Marketing for Papercutz. "But we're always looking to grow our audience and the readership for comics. It's part of why we partnered with Nickelodeon in the first place.
