Landmark Agreement Brings “Harry Potter” and “Fantastic Beasts” Films to MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite and Paramount Network, Beginning July 3

Paramount is bringing the world of “Harry Potter” to MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite and Paramount Network for the first time, starting Friday, July 3. The Company inked a multi-year licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery, making Paramount’s family of brands the exclusive linear home of the beloved franchise spanning 11 films and nearly 40 hours of storytelling across the “Harry Potter” and “Fantastic Beasts” library.

“Expanding Paramount’s portfolio with the ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Fantastic Beasts’ films underscores our commitment to delivering world-class franchises to the wide range of audiences our brands serve,” said Laurel Weir, head of programming and acquisitions for Paramount Media Networks and chief research and insights officer for TV Media. “As one of the most beloved and enduring franchises in entertainment, ‘Harry Potter’ continues to captivate audiences across generations, and this addition enables us to deliver the magic and adventure of these timeless stories to fans of all ages.”

The programming rollout for each network is as follows:

• MTV: MTV will debut the franchise with a special holiday weekend event, beginning Friday, July 3 at 12:00 PM, ET/PT through Sunday, July 5, featuring a marathon of all eight films from the original “Harry Potter” series.

• Paramount Network: Paramount Network will present a week-long event showcasing all eight “Harry Potter” and all three “Fantastic Beasts” films, with a featured movie each weeknight beginning Monday, July 13 at 6:00 PM, ET/PT, and continuing through Sunday, July 19, with weekend airings beginning at 12:00 PM, ET/PT.

• Nickelodeon/Nick at Nite: Nick at Nite will host a week-long event showcasing all eight “Harry Potter” movies beginning Sunday, Aug. 9 at 7:00 PM, ET/PT, with each title encoring the next day on Nickelodeon. Later in the summer, as part of Warner Bros. Discovery’s annual “Back to Hogwarts” celebrations, Nickelodeon will air the “Harry Potter” films over the Labor Day holiday weekend, beginning Thursday, Sept. 3, inaugurating its own participation in the global activations.

The summer of entertainment is hotting up and sizzling on Paramount+ this August.

With a huge roster of shows and movies to keep us entertained as schools break up for summer, let’s see what August has prepared to beam down for our viewing pleasure.

August is headlined by the return of one of the streamer’s flagship series, Lioness, on Sunday, August 2nd. There’s also continuing new episodes from the fourth season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds throughout the month. They’ll be joined by a host of classic shows including Parks & Rec, The Equalizer, Evil and Battlestar Galactica. There’s also the arrival of several big movie titles including Scream 7, Primitive War and Diablo.

For younger viewers, Paramount+ will be adding the SpongeBob Universe special SpongeBob & Patrick's Timeline Twist-up on Friday, August 14th. In the SpongeBob SquarePants and The Patrick Star Show crossover, when Patrick’s Time Closet goes on the fritz, SpongeBob’s history is re-written by time traveling interlopers.

When characters from The Patrick Star Show--Squidina, Cecil, Bunny, and GrandPat-- embark on a time-traveling adventure through some of the most iconic SpongeBob SquarePants episodes, including “Rock Bottom,” “Ripped Pants,” “Neptune’s Spatula,” and “Help Wanted.” As they appear, it is up to SpongeBob and Patrick to restore the timeline and stop the madness. The special also features guest star John O’Hurley (Seinfeld) as the voice of King Neptune.

Paramount has announced the lineup of movies, TV shows, and live sports coming to Paramount+ in August. The Paramount Plus August 2026 schedule brings a mix of high-stakes drama, fan-favorite competition series, and marquee live sporting events.

The month is anchored by the return of Taylor Sheridan’s hit espionage thriller Lioness Season 3 (August 2), starring Zoe Saldaña, Michael Kelly, Morgan Freeman, and Nicole Kidman, alongside the debut of new docuseries Special Ops TRUE (August 4), which revisits some of the most high-profile military missions of the last several decades with unseen footage.

Reality fans can also gear up for The Challenge: Cutthroat Season 42, premiering August 5, while Average Joe returns for its second season on August 19 with a globe-spanning adventure that raises the stakes for Joe and his crew.

Sports fans can tune in all month long for a knockout slate of live events, including UFC 330: Makhachev vs. Machado Garry (August 15), multiple UFC Fight Night cards, the historic 10th season of Dana White’s Contender Series (August 11), where UFC hopefuls compete for the opportunity to earn a UFC contract, and Zuffa Boxing 10 (August 8).
