Platinum Games And Activision Announce "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan" Release Date

Platinum Games and Activision have announced the Turtley Awesome that they will release the studios brand-new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action video game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan digitally and physically on PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PS3 on Tuesday 24th May 2016!

The release date was unveiled at the end of a new trailer featuring boss battle gameplay, including Bebop, Rocksteady, Krang, Armaggon, Karai, and Shredder, and a brief tease of Super Shredder!:

The new trailer is fairly similar to the first, building on a few of the key moments we saw between the Turtles and their iconic enemies, including Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady. A few story cinematics give you a flavour of the voice work, before giving way to some fantastic glimpses of the game's boss battles. There are plenty of moves that have the Turtles teaming up and combining their ninja skills, which appear to be both crucial to success and plain old fun to perform during online co-op.

Mutants in Manhattan is a third-person action game featuring New York's crime-fighting Heroes in a Half Shell. Players will protect The Big Apple from aliens, mutants and the Foot Clan in a single-player campaign or partner with up to three friends in four-player online co-op. But be prepared – defeating Bebop, Rocksteady, Shredder and other iconic bosses won't be easy!

PlatinumGames' flair for stylish visuals and fluid combat are on full display in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan. Fast-paced, team-based brawling will challenge gamers of all skill levels. Each Turtle has a distinctive combat play style and can be customised with a unique set of Ninjutsu moves, combat items and special bonuses.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan also features gorgeous, cel-shaded art design, with an original story from prolific author of IDW Publishing's acclaimed ongoing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, Tom Waltz.

Rated T for Teen, Mutants in Manhattan will be released just before Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures' brand-new TMNT movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, opening in theaters across the USA and cinemas across the UK on Friday 3rd June 2016.

First look At Shredder In "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows"

The villainous Shredder is set to return in Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, the Michael Bay-produced sequel to 2014's hit film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

The martial arts master who is the sworn enemy of the iconic heroes in a half-shell - Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello - was last seen in the first film seemingly defeated for good.

Originally portrayed by actor Tohoru Masamune, Brian Tee is taking over the role and has given fans their first look at Shredder's new costume on social media.

"Ladies and gentlemen... I give you... The... #SHREDDER," Tee wrote on Twitter Sunday showcasing the same image that was revealed during Nickelodeon's 2016 Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday 12th March 2016.

The photo features Brian Tee wearing a much more traditional version of Shredder's armor and helmet. While some might note that his armor actually features fewer defensive blades than many previous versions (other live-action Shredders have had blades on their shoulders, forearm gauntlets and occasionally knuckles, shinguards and elbow-pads) it also looks as though Tee's Shredder is posing in lightweight plate-armor meant to be worn under heavier pieces; something that would befit the heavily Japanese/Samurai-inspired design of the helmet.

Shredder will be joined by fan-favorite villains Bebop and Rocksteady, portrayed by Gary Anthony Williams and WWE Superstar Sheamus, respectively, along with the towering Krang, who was recently revealed for Out of the Shadows in a new trailer for the film back in February.

Other newcomers for the sequel include Arrow star Stephen Amell as the hockey stick wielding vigilante Casey Jones, Brittany Ishibashi as Karai, Tyler Perry as scientist Baxter Stockman and Laura Linney as reporter Rebecca Vincent. Megan Fox as April O' Neil and her bumbling cameraman Vernon played by Will Arnett will also return.

Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 opens in theaters June 3, 2016!
