Thrilling kids and parents alike, NickFest brought families together thanks to its unique combination of live music from South African A-listers Karlien Van Jaarsveld, Nasty C and Shekhinah, character shows, and appearances by Nickelodeon superstars SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora and Friends, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Chase, Marshall, Rubble and Skye from Paw Patrol. NickFest was hosted by Minnie Dlamini alongside the comedy trio of Nicholas, Jason and Donovan Goliath.
During the sold out event, kids switched up when Nasty C walked on stage with his dancing crew to perform Switch Up. The "Hell Naw" hitmaker ensured that the kids were entertained and he revealed that, apart from music he has some dance moves up his sleeves. Pop artist Shekhinah gave a lovely perform for the kids inclusive of her hits, "Back To The Beach" and "Let You Know". Rounding off this years NickFest performances was Afrikaans pop artist Karlien van Jaarsveld, who had the crowd jumping to her tune.
And, of course, there was lots of Nickelodeon’s trademark slime – gallons and gallons in the awesome Slime Zone – bigger and stickier than before! During the event, celebrities, including Sureshnie Rider, Alex Caige, Anele Mdoda, Somizi Mhlongo, Jacaranda 94.2's Thabiso Mack Rapapali, Donovan Goliath, Kelly Khumalo, Khuli Chana, Mmasea PeTje and host Minnie Dlamini, all received an epic Nickelodeon sliming - Nickelodeon's highest honour!
Kids and parents also enjoyed the KinderJoy interactive area which showcased the Magic Kinder app, and a special appearance by the KinderJoy mascot Kinderino!
