Nov. 22, 2022 – Paramount+ today announced METALLICA PRESENTS: THE HELPING HANDS CONCERT, a live concert benefiting the band’s All Within My Hands foundation, will stream on the service in the U.S. and Canada on Friday, Dec. 16, beginning at 5:30 PM, PT. Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and taking place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the third edition of the Helping Hands Concert & Auction will open with a special set from guest Greta Van Fleet followed by a unique performance from Metallica. The concert will be available to stream in the U.K., Latin America, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and France on Saturday, Dec. 17, Australia on Sunday, Dec. 18, and South Korea in 2023. The concert will also be simulcast on Pluto TV globally and on YouTube.

When the crew attempts to secure transport to the Federation, they unwittingly cross paths with the Vice Admiral who is hunting them.

The episode will feature the return of Captain Thadiun Okona from the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “The Outrageous Okona.” Original actor Billy Campbell voices Okana.
In a recent interview with TrekMovie, executive producers Kevin and Dan Hageman talked about bringing back Okona and giving him (and Campbell) a chance at redemption:
Dan Hageman: I think we had a laugh about that episode, “Outrageous Okona,” in the writer’s room. And we love that he was like this like two-bit Han Solo. We just thought, ‘Can we?’ And then we found out that we could get him we were like, “Let’s do it!” Billy Campbell was great, too. I remember the first artist’s renditions that we did of him were more tasteful and he said, “No, no! You should really let him go! Give him an eye patch!” And then that rippled to when he was on Lower Decks, we were like “Got to get an eyepatch on him.” Got to keep this canon.
Kevin Hageman: When we were recording Billy, he loved bringing the character back because he looked back and said, “I didn’t do a very good job.” And I think the script was going through changes and so he said, “I would love what you guys could do to give him a second chance.”

Developed by Emmy(R) Award winners Kevin and Dan Hageman ("Trollhunters" and "Ninjago"), the CG-animated series STAR TREK: PRODIGY is the first "Star Trek" series aimed at younger audiences, and follows a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search of a better future. These six young outcasts know nothing about the ship they have commandeered - a first in the history of the "Star Trek" franchise - but over the course of their adventures together, they will each be introduced to Starfleet and the ideals it represents.
In the remaining STAR TREK: PRODIGY season one episodes, as the hopeful crew makes their way toward Starfleet, their dreams are threatened when they discover the U.S.S. Protostar harbors a weapon designed to tear the United Federation of Planets apart. To make matters worse, the U.S.S. Dauntless is on a manhunt for the Protostar as the real Vice Admiral Janeway is eager to uncover what happened to her missing former First Officer Chakotay. With these two ships on a collision course and destruction on the horizon, the fate of the Alpha Quadrant hangs in the balance. New episodes stream Thursdays on Paramount+.
The series has been renewed for a second season, which is slated to premiere in 2023.
