Nov. 22, 2022 – Paramount+ today announced the #1 film of 2022, TOP GUN: MAVERICK, will be available to stream globally on the service beginning Thursday, Dec. 22 in the U.S. as well as in Canada, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and previously announced markets – the U.K. and Latin America. It will be available in South Korea and France in 2023.

After more than 30 years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose.”

Super RTL Premieres 'Star Trek: Prodigy' in Germany

Super RTL, the German free-to-air television network owned by the RTL Group, will host the German TV premiere of Star Trek: Prodigy! RTL Group announced the news earlier this year as part of the company's Screenforce Days 2022 event. The news follows Nickelodeon's brand new CG-animated Paramount Original Star Trek series airing on Nickelodeon channels in Austria and Switzerland earlier this year.

Super RTL will premiere Star Trek: Prodigy on Friday, November 4, where the show will air daily at 19:45 Uhr.

Avatar Studios Releases Stunning New Last Airbender Artwork

Avatar Studios drops gorgeous new artwork featuring some of Avatar: The Last Airbender's most beloved characters, including Aang, Iroh and Zuko.


Avatar Studios is busy working on a number of new projects set in the Four Nations. But while the releases of those projects are some years away, the Nickelodeon subsidiary still knows how to keep fans excited for the return of their favorite characters.

As reported by Avatar News, Avatar Studios dropped several new images featuring Aang in the Avatar State, Prince Zuko, Mai and General Iroh, all surrounded by fire or the four elements. The images are available for purchase at Avatar Studios' official Displate store, along with many, many more.





What Avatar Studios Has in Store

The first feature film being produced by Avatar Studios, which is headed by creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, will see the return of the Gaang, though this is only one of several projects currently in the works featuring the original cast of characters. Audiences will have to wait some time, however, as it was recently reported the film is looking at a release date of Oct. 10, 2025.

While details are scarce concerning the kind of adventure Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph and Zuko will embark on this time around, or which actors are attached to voice them, it has been revealed that Flying Bark Productions (Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, LEGO Monkie Kid, What If…?) is involved in the production, animating the film.

But for those who aren't necessarily interested in Avatar Aang's story, the studio is also reportedly working on a full film centered on Avatar Korra, though the project does not currently have a set release date, though it is believed to be headed to theaters some time in 2026. This has not yet been officially confirmed by Avatar Studios, Nickelodeon or Paramount.

The World of Avatar: The Last Airbender Continues

For the more dedicated fans of the franchise, there is the question of where the comics and novels fall into the canon since the publications have allowed the story to continue long after the animated shows concluded. Writer Tim Hedrick previously discussed the matter on the official podcast, Avatar: Braving the Elements, hinting that the comics and novels will play a significant part in the upcoming films. "If you haven't read the comics, and are excited for the new stuff, read the comics because it's only going to enrich your experience going forward... you are going to know more about what's up," he explained.

Avatar: The Last Airbender aired on Nickelodeon between 2005 and 2008, covering the story of Avatar Aang as he attempted to master all four elements in the span of less than a year, in time to defeat the tyrannical Firelord Ozai before he could burn the world using Sozin's Comet. The series has been widely praised for its unique fantasy world and its handling of mature subject matter.

Nickelodeon to Premiere 'Bubble Guppies' Episode 'The Big Rig Bandit!' on December 9

Nickelodeon will premiere the brand new Bubble Guppies episode "The Big Rig Bandit!" on Friday, December 9 at 12:00 p.m. (ET/PT).


In the all new Bubble Guppies episode "The Big Rig Bandit!," when reckless hyena Spotty steals young elephant Eli from the savanna, Wildlife Rangers Zooli and Goby hop into their big rig to rescue him! But when the big rig chase lands Spotty and Eli in danger, it’s up to the Guppies to save the day! (#616)

Update (11/29) - Allan Neuwirth, a head writer on Bubble Guppies, has revealed that season six of Bubble Guppies has 26 episodes as opposed to 20 as originally thought.

'SpongeBob' Exec. Producers Tease SpongeBob’s 25th Anniversary Celebrations in 2024

It seems like only yesterday we were celebrating SpongeBob SquarePants' 20th anniversary, but believe it or not, we're less than two years away to celebrating the beloved animated series landmark 25th anniversary in 2024!


Nickelodeon went big in 2019 to celebrate SpongeBob's 20th anniversary with the "Best Year Ever," and it seems like Nickelodeon's plans to celebrate SpongeBob's 25th anniversary will be even bigger!

In a recent interview with The Beat at NYCC 2022, SpongeBob SquarePants co-executive producers Vincent Waller and Marc Ceccarelli teased what Nickelodeon has in store to commemorate the long-running series in 2024.

Speaking to The Beat, Ceccarelli revealed "in a couple of years it’s going to be SpongeBob’s 25th anniversary and we’ve already started developing stuff for that."

When asked how they are topping the 20th anniversary, Waller teased "we can’t say anything but there will be a lot of cool special stuff."

During the interview, Waller, joined by Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick Star) and Dana Snyder (GrandPat) teased what fans can look forward to in new episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants and its spin-off series, Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years and The Patrick Star Show over the next few years:

"Look for action and adventure," said Snyder.

"Romance!" teased Fagerbakke. 

"On Kamp Koral we had the crash cart derby which I loved doing," added Waller.

It's safe to say that the next few years are going to be huge for the SpongeBob Universe. Not only can fans expect to see plenty of new episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants, Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years and The Patrick Star Show, but also four all-new movies - three that will be released on streaming platforms such as Paramount+ and Netflix, and one that will be released in theaters in 2025! One of the new SpongeBob films will be Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie, which is expected to be released on a streaming service in 2023.

Nickelodeon commemorated SpongeBob SquarePants' 20th anniversary with the premiere of a brand new special “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout,” which featured for the first time the celebrated voice talent behind SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, Squidward and Plankton playing live-action doppelgänger versions of the animated characters they voice. The celebrations continued with the launch of new consumer products and activations.
