Nickelodeon baut das weltweit beliebte DORA-Franchise weiter aus und kündigt zahlreiche neue Inhalte an – darunter der neue Live-Action-Film DORA AUF DER SUCHE NACH SOL DORADO, der am Freitag, den 4. Juli, in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz erstmals um 17:10 Uhr auf Nickelodeon und Paramount+ ausgestrahlt wird.
Im Mittelpunkt des Films steht die 16-jährige Dora, gespielt von Samantha Lorraine (Du bist sowas von nicht zu meiner Bat-Mizwa eingeladen), die gemeinsam mit ihren Freund*innen durch die gefährlichen Tiefen des Amazonas reist, um den legendären Schatz von Sol Dorado zu finden, um ihn vor falschen Händen zu retten.
Neben Lorraine sind unter anderem Jacob Rodriguez als ihr Cousin Diego, Mariana Garzón Toro als die entschlossene Naiya, Acston Luca Porto als ihr neugieriger Bruder Sonny, Daniella Pineda als Doras Kindheitsidol Camila the Crusader sowie Gabriel „Fluffy“ Iglesias als Stimme von Boots, Doras treuem Affenfreund, mit dabei. Regie führt Alberto Belli (Andys 8 – Der Weihnachtsraub), das Drehbuch stammt von JT Billings (Grusel, Grauen, Gänsehaut). Adam Bonnett (Monster High: Der Film) produziert gemeinsam mit Chris Gifford und Valerie Walsh Valdes (Dora The Explorer).
Der Live-Action-Film bildet den Auftakt zu „Doras große Fiesta“, einer Jubiläumsinitiative, die das 25-jährige Bestehen der Serie feiert und eine Reihe brandneuer Multiplattform-Inhalte und -Erlebnisse für Kinder und Familien bietet.
Zu den Highlights der „Fiesta“ gehören:
Die Feier beginnt am 30. Juni und läuft einen Monat lang bis zum 27. Juli im Nick-Jr.-Dora-Slot. In diesem Zeitraum werden die Episoden 208–213 gezeigt.
Staffel 3 von DORA startet am 4. Juli exklusiv auf Paramount+ und am 17. Juli auf Nick Jr. – inklusive einer besonderen Geburtstagsepisode zum Jubiläum. DORA wurde außerdem für eine vierte Staffel verlängert, die später in diesem Jahr sowohl auf Nick Jr. als auch auf Paramount+ ausgestrahlt wird.
Im Herbst wird ein Kinoevent mit zwei bislang unveröffentlichten Episoden unter dem Arbeitstitel Magic Mermaid Adventures in über 20 Ländern gezeigt. Die Handlung dreht sich um Doras Meerjungfrauen-Abenteuer.
Ein weltweiter Produktlaunch mit neuen Artikeln rund um DORA, darunter Spielzeug, Kleidung, Bücher und Lebensmittelprodukte.
Der Dora Fund, in Zusammenarbeit mit Plan International, fördert die Bildung von Mädchen weltweit mit Schulmaterialien, Stipendien und Rucksäcken.
Neue englischsprachige Soundtrack- und Song-Veröffentlichungen, die ab diesem Sommer auf allen gängigen Musikplattformen erscheinen.

In this brand-new family movie, the world’s greatest explorer and her friends will trek through the perilous dangers of the Amazonian jungle in search of the ancient treasure of Sol Dorado to prevent it from falling into enemy hands.
Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado features Latina heroine Dora, who returns as a 16-year-old, played by Samantha Lorraine (You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah).
The Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado cast also includes: Jacob Rodriguez as Diego, Dora’s 17-year-old loyal cousin and jungle-exploring partner; Mariana Garzón Toro as Naiya, Diego’s bold and no-nonsense coworker; Acston Luca Porto as Sonny, Naiya’s younger brother with boundless energy and curiosity; Daniella Pineda as Camila the Crusader, a legend in the world of archaeology and Dora’s childhood hero; and Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, as the voice of Boots, Dora’s monkey sidekick and best friend.
The film is directed by Alberto Belli (The Naughty Nine) and written by JT Billings (Are You Afraid of the Dark?). Adam Bonnett (Monster High: The Movie) serves as an executive producer, alongside Chris Gifford and Valerie Walsh Valdes (Dora the Explorer).

The live-action movie kicks off “The Great Dora Fiesta,” an anniversary initiative featuring an array of brand-new multiplatform content and experiences for kids and families, marking 25 historic years of the franchise. “Fiesta” highlights include:
An hour-long special of Paramount+’s original hit CG-animated preschool series DORA, spotlighting cousin Diego (voiced by Kai Edgar). In “Dora & Diego: Rainforest Rescues,” premiering Wednesday, July 2, on Paramount+ and Nickelodeon, viewers will learn how Diego met his best friend, Baby Jaguar.
A third season of DORA that will start streaming on Wednesday, July 2, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., and internationally where the service is available, and include a special birthday-themed episode that will also premiere on Nickelodeon, the week of the 25th anniversary on Friday, Aug. 15. The upcoming season (26x11-minute episodes) will feature guest stars: Danny Trejo, as Santa; and Jett Gomez, who joins her dad Taboo on the series, as Quickatina, Quickatoo’s (Taboo) daughter. DORA has also been renewed for a fourth season that will premiere later this year.
