“This series continues to be one of my favorite comic books on stands!” – IGN

BOOM! Studios, under license by Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS), today revealed a first look at one of the biggest mysteries in Power Rangers history as the GO GO POWER RANGERS series joins the epic Necessary Evil event in July 2019.

GO GO POWER RANGERS #21, from the writing duo of Ryan Parrott (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) & Sina Grace (Iceman) and artist Francesco Mortarino (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), begins to reveal new secret history behind the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers with the introduction of all new characters, new alliances and jaw-dropping answers to some of the biggest questions that fans have always asked.

The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are back on Earth after the incredible events of Shattered Grid, but they don’t seem to remember the details of their epic battle with Lord Drakkon, the twisted alternate-reality version of Tommy Oliver, who threatened to destroy the very fabric of the universe before the combined might of Power Rangers from across the galaxy ended his nefarious plan. So why don’t the Power Rangers recall exactly what happened? And what does that have to do with the strange events occurring around them? The answers to these game-changing questions will reveal the untold story behind one of the most explosive reveals in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers history.

SABAN’S GO GO POWER RANGERS #21 features a main cover by Amelia Vidal (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), a Yearbook variant cover by acclaimed artist Miguel Mercado (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), a ‘90s Album Cover variant cover by Gleb Melnikov (Angel) that pays homage to No Doubt’s 1995 album Tragic Kingdom, and a Social Feed variant cover by Johanna the Mad (Fence).

Print copies of SABAN’S GO GO POWER RANGERS #21 will be available for sale on July 10, 2019 at local comic book shops (use comicshoplocator.com to find the one nearest you), or at the BOOM! Studios webstore. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers like comiXology, iBooks, Google Play, and the BOOM! Studios app.

Currently, Power Rangers is celebrating 26 continuous years on the air, making it one of the longest running kids’ live-action series in television history with nearly 900 episodes aired to date. Created by Haim Saban and launched in 1993 with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the franchise celebrates its milestone anniversary year with the 26th season, “Power Rangers Beast Morphers” currently airing on Saturdays at 8 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon in the U.S.

Studios’ eponymous imprint, home to critically acclaimed original series, including Once & Future by Kieron Gillen and Dan Mora; Faithless by Brian Azzarello and Maria Llovet; Abbott from Saladin Ahmed and Sami Kivelä; Bury The Lede from Gaby Dunn and Claire Roe; Grass Kings from Matt Kindt and Tyler Jenkins; and Klaus from Grant Morrison and Dan Mora. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #43 Exclusive Covers Reveal

We've got the main and trading card variant cover art for the upcoming issue #43 of the Power Rangers comic!

The Power Rangers comic is going in bold new directions by introducing the White Ranger into the main comic, especially after its univere altering "Shattered Grid" arc. While the comic has veered away from Power Rangers TV stories since the beginning, having the White Ranger around without any of the "Green Candle" episodes is still a huge depature. While we haven't gotten issue #40, where the White Ranger is set to debut, we've got an exclusive look at the covers of issue #43 of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic.

First up is the main cover by Jamal Campbell.

What has beaten the Rangers back so badly? What's going on in the sky? Some unknown evil force? Those massive time portals from Time Force? What's that shadow of? So many questions!

While this won't answer any of them, we also have the Trading Card variant cover by Kris Anka.

Billy is killing it in that pose! Hopefully this art ends up in another poster book from Boom. The Necessary Evil arc looks to be one that should be a solid read for longtime fans. For those that need a refresher on what Necessary Evil will mean for the Power Rangers comics, Dafna Pleban, Senior Editor, Boom! Studios said,

“Just like Shattered Grid changed the fates of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and their universe forever, Necessary Evil will reveal huge shocking twists and reveal new details that will expand the Power Rangers legacy and have fans running to the store to find out what happens next!”

Boka Food makes TV debut on Nickelodeon UK

Boka Food makes TV debut on Nickelodeon UK

In a bid to get families snacking more healthily, Boka Food has launched its first TV campaign: 4 Green Lights, on leading children’s television network Nickelodeon in the UK.

The advertising activity is designed to show how Boka’s entire snacks range is low in fat, saturates, sugar and salt, using the traffic lights system of labelling.

The brand is on a mission to champion clearer information on food labels and the ad campaign launching on Nickelodeon is the next step in achieving this aim, with a two-year deal set to run during key period between now and June 2021.

The TV campaign also marks the launch of a wider marketing campaign which will include PR, sampling and social media activations to reinforce the 4 Green Lights messaging.

Franco Beer, founder of Boka, told Convenience Store: "The TV campaign on Nickelodeon uses the four green traffic light messaging at its centre, demonstrated through a fun and engaging visual reinforcing to consumers what to look for when they choose an everyday snack product that still tastes delicious.

"Being one of the only snack brands able to advertise on children’s TV reinforces our healthy credentials to families who can trust they are making the right choice when purchasing our products. For us it is about educating as many consumers as we can how to snack more healthily and reaching new audiences via this campaign will help our mission to do this."

Virginia Monaghan, Vice President (VP) of Marketing, Commercial and Events at Nickelodeon UK and Northern and Eastern Europe, added: "We’re looking forward to the partnership with Boka – furthering our commitment to showcasing the importance of a balanced diet and lifestyle to our young audience. Boka’s products are a great way to educate families on the importance of healthy snacking and we’re delighted to have the ads running across the Nickelodeon network."

Core flavours within Boka’s bar range include apple & cinnamon; strawberry; choco mallow; and caramel. Watch the new ad campaign below:

'Are You Afraid of the Dark?' Star Ross Hull Wants to be in the Reboot

'Are You Afraid of the Dark?' Star: TV Reboot is Great, But ... Throw Us OG Stars a Bone!!!

Nickelodeon is reimagining its chillingly beloved anthology Are You Afraid of the Dark? as a brand-new limited series, which will introduce viewers to an entirely new Midnight Society group of kids.

However, one of the original stars of Are You Afraid of the Dark? is a little disappointed about the upcoming reboot of the spooky series -- not because he thinks it won't be good ... but because he's not in it.

Ross Hull, who played Gary, the original leader of the Midnight Society kids who told spooky stories in the woods, told TMZ he hasn't been contacted to get involved in the modern iteration of the show, which is returning to Nickelodeon this Fall ... just in time for Halloween.

Ross says he gets it -- out with the old and in with the new -- but he believes die-hard fans of the '90s show will likely want to know what's up with the original cast of characters, and thinks they're bound to be let down ... just like he is.

He isn't asking for much, but if the reboot's producers are listening ... he's open to a cameo or any other homage to Gary and the gang. He says it would be a win-win.

As for what Ross is up to in real life -- he's a meteorologist at Global News in Toronto. Forecasting lake effect snows in Canada? That's real deal scary.

Do you want to see the original Midnight Society feature in Nick's Are You Afraid of the Dark? revival? Let me know in the comments!

In Nickelodeon's Are You Afraid of the Dark? revival, through three hour-long episodes, the new Midnight Society will tell a terrifying tale about the Carnival of Doom, only to have the events of the story come to life.

The new members of the Midnight Society are: Gavin, played by Sam Ashe Arnold (Best.Worst.Weekend.Ever.); Akiko, played by Miya Cech (Rim of the World, Always Be My Maybe); Louise, played by Tamara Smart (Artemis Fowl, The Worst Witch); Graham, played by Jeremy Taylor (It, Goosebumps 2:Haunted Halloween); and Rachel, played by Lyliana Wray (Top Gun: Maverick, Black-ish). The Carnival of Doom’s ringmaster, Mr. Tophat, is played by Rafael Casal (Blindspotting).

Production on the new Are You Afraid of the Dark? will commence this month (June 2019) in Vancouver, Canada, and will premiere on Nickelodeon in October 2019.

The Are You Afraid of the Dark? limited series is produced by ACE Entertainment (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, The Perfect Date) with ACE founder Matt Kaplan and Spencer Berman serving as executive producers. The series is written by BenDavid Grabinski (Skiptrace) and directed by Dean Israelite (Power Rangers movie, Project Almanac), both of whom will also executive produce.

Inspired by the classic art of storytelling, Nickelodeon’s original Are You Afraid of the Dark? (series ran from 1992-1996 and 1999-2000) broke the mold by exploring a whole new genre of entertainment. One of the net’s most iconic series from the ‘90s, Are You Afraid of the Dark? delivered riveting stories of horror to young audiences, all from a kid’s perspective. Are You Afraid of the Dark? was created by D.J. MacHale and Ned Kandel.
