The news was revealed by Matt Gray, co-owner of Owensboro, Kentucky-based Gray Sky Music, the recording studio where 12-year-old voice actor Charlie Palmer records his lines for Donatello (Donnie) in the series, in an interview with WBKR.
Produced as a digital first series by Nickelodeon Digital Studios, Teeny Mutant Ninja Turtles focusses on Leo, Raph, Donnie and Mikey's early years as ninjas-in-training, before they become fully-fledged Heroes in a Half Shell.
Per the logline: "The Teeny Mutant Ninja Turtles are ready to gear up and go! Everyone’s favorite ninja turtles, Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo, are back! Set in their childhood years, this original series explores the early days of the iconic ninja turtles on their first adventures as ninjas-in-training. They’ll even be joined by their friend April O’Neil, and encounter foes like BeBop, Rocksteady, and Karai."
Season one (30 four-minute episodes) of Teeny Mutant Ninja Turtles launched on the Nick Jr. YouTube channel in July, with new episodes rolling out weekly on the Nick Jr. YouTube channel. Production on season two is currently underway.
