ViacomCBS Networks International Appoints Jaime Ondarza as EVP and GM of France, Iberia, Italy, Middle East, Greece & Turkey

Milan, June 18, 2020 – ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI) has appointed Jaime Ondarza as Executive Vice President (EVP) and General Manager (GM) of a newly created regional structure, which includes France, Iberia, Italy, the Middle East, Greece and Turkey. Ondarza will report to Raffaele Annecchino, President, ViacomCBS Networks Europe, Middle East, Africa & Asia. In this new role, Ondarza is charged with aligning operations, maximizing strategic synergies and identifying new commercial opportunities.

Ondarza joins ViacomCBS Networks EMEAA with over 22 years of international experience in the media and entertainment industry. Prior to his appointment, Ondarza covered long running executive roles in Warner Media, where he successfully launched and developed new business and brands, and in Boing, the JV between Mediaset and Warner Media. In addition to founding the first FTA commercial kids channel worldwide on the DTT, Ondarza launched the Boing App, which was Warner Media’s first AVOD streaming service designed for kids and families.


Additionally, Andrea Castellari, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and General Manager (GM) for ViacomCBS Networks Italy, Turkey and the Middle East will be leaving the company to pursue new endeavours.

Jaime Ondarza rejoint ViacomCBS Networks EMEAA après 22 ans d’expérience à l’international dans l'industrie des média et du divertissement. Il a occupé pendant de nombreuses années des postes de direction chez Warner Media, où il a lancé et développé avec succès de nouvelles activités, de nouvelles marques et géré avec Boing la joint-venture entre Mediaset et Warner Media. En plus d'avoir fondé la première chaîne commerciale pour enfants de la TNT, M. Ondarza a lancé l'application Boing, qui a été le premier service de streaming AVOD de Warner Media à destination des enfants et des familles.

Suite à une réorganisation interne, Thierry Cammas qui était l’actuel président-gérant des chaînes ViacomCBS France quitte le groupe.

Thierry Cammas avait auparavant dirigé le pôle des chaînes musicales de Lagardère (MCM et Mezzo) pendant une dizaine d’années avant de rejoindre Viacom en 2005.

Au sein du groupe, Thierry Cammas a notamment importé des chaînes complémentaires à MTV et Game One de l’époque : Paramount Channel, Comedy Central, BET, Nickelodeon…

Thierry Cammas est remplacé par un ancien de Turner (Warner TV…) Jaime Ondarza.

Il nuovo country manager del gruppo ViacomCbs in Italia è Alberto Carrozzo, che occupava l’incarico di vice president finance e strategy di VIMN Italia, Middle East e Turchia, coordinando l’area finanziaria e amministrativa di questi mercati.

Insomma, grandi manovre al network televisivo che edita canali come Paramount network, Mtv, Nickelodeon, Comedy central, Super!. A livello continentale c’è la creazione del nuovo South hub di ViacomCBS Networks International, che comprende Italia, Francia, Iberia, Medio Oriente, Grecia e Turchia, con la nomina di Jaime Ondarza nel ruolo di executive vice president e general manager di Italia, Francia, Iberia, Medio Oriente, Grecia e Turchia (Ondarza riporterà a Raffaele Annecchino, presidente, ViacomCBS Networks Europa, Medio Oriente, Africa e Asia).

Chiusa la concessionaria
Carrozzo, che a sua volta riporterà a Ondarza, avrà il compito di supportarlo nella operazioni locali e per tutto ciò che riguarda il business sul mercato italiano. Un business che è stato rivoluzionato non poco negli ultimi mesi: lo scorso 1° ottobre, infatti, il direttore generale di Viacom advertising e brand solutions, Paolo Romano, aveva lasciato il gruppo per passare a Sky Media come direttore commerciale, senza essere sostituito. Una concessionaria di pubblicità senza vertice aveva insospettito non poco il mercato.
