Nickelodeon Announces 'Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan' Cast

Nickelodeon has set the cast for Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan, starring young rapper Dylan Gilmer, Deadline has revealed! Martin alum Carl Anthony Payne II, Mieko Hillman (Teen Wolf), Celina Smith, Hero Hunter (The Purge) and Aloma Wright (Scrubs) will join Gilmer in the kids and family live-action series.

Executive produced, directed and written by Perry, the story follows a family whose world is turned upside down when their nephew, Young Dylan (Gilmer), an aspiring hip-hop star, moves in unannounced. Michelle Sneed also serves as Executive Producer along with Will Areu and Mark E. Swinton who serve as Producers of the series, which films at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.

When Dylan’s grandmother Viola (Wright) realizes raising her grandson is too much to take on, she decides to send him to live indefinitely with her affluent son Myles Wilson (Payne), his wife Yasmine (Hillman) and their two kids Rebecca (Smith) and Charlie (Hunter).

The Wilson family household is soon turned upside down as lifestyles clash between rising hip hop star Young Dylan and his straight-laced cousins. From Dylan giving Rebecca and Charlie lessons in “swag” and street smarts, to learning that even “rappers” have rules in the Wilson house, the series follows the hilarious hijinks this family faces as they try to get on the same beat.

Perry made a surprise visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show last October when Gilmer was a guest and announced that the young rapper would be starring in his own Nickelodeon show.

Nickelodeon’s partnership with Perry is part of his long-term pact with ViacomCBS, producing original series for BET Networks (The Oval and Sistas) and other ViacomCBS networks, with exclusive licensing rights on this programming. Additionally, Perry recently announced his joint venture with BET Networks for the new streaming video on demand service BET+.

Born and raised in Annapolis, MD, Gilmer is best known for his appearances and performances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and at NBA All-Star Weekend. He also has an overall talent deal with Telepictures, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Television. In 2019, Gilmer made a guest appearance on the revival of Nickelodeon’s hit sketch comedy series All That.

Gilmer is repped by Sherry Kayne of The Green Room and Chris Abramson at Felker Toczek Suddleson Abramson.

Hillman, who recently wrapped feature Psycho Nurses, is repped by Mavrick Artists Agency and manager Bob McGowan.

Nickelodeon’s Tyler Perry Series ‘Young Dylan’ Open Casting Call

Nickelodeon and Tyler Perry are now casting for an upcoming live-action family series starring 10-year-old rapper Young Dylan.
Written by Tyler Perry, the new series centers around the story of a family whose world is changed when their nephew, an aspiring rapper (Dylan), moves in.

“I’m excited to work with Brian and the team at Nickelodeon and find creative ways to reach new audiences,” said Perry. “I love creating comedy television and can’t wait to work with the talented Young Dylan.”

“It’s a thrill to bring this new series to Nickelodeon from the incredibly talented and prolific Tyler Perry, whose track record speaks for itself” added Nickelodeon President Brian Robbins. “Dylan is an incredibly talented 10-year-old who at heart is a relatable kid making his dreams happen. We know kids are going to love watching Dylan and we can’t wait to introduce him and his new show to our audience.”

Tyler Perry Studios landed this deal as part of Tyler Perry’s partnership with Viacom to produce original series for BET Networks and other Viacom networks. Tyler Perry Studios recently announced a venture with BET Networks for its upcoming streaming video-on-demand service BET+. The platform has more than 1,000 hours of content including original content, movies, series, and specials from Tyler Perry, Will Packer, and others.

Young Dylan is most known for his appearances on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” He made a guest appearance on ‘All That’, which is set to air on Saturday, October 12th.

Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent including kid actors to work on the upcoming Nickelodeon TV series by Tyler Perry. Producers are looking for kids, teens, and adult actors to work as background actors, extras, stand-ins, photo doubles, and stand-ins in Atlanta, Georgia.

CAB Castings, LLC. is NOW CASTING FOR PAID MINOR EXTRAS (ages 9 and up ONLY) to be PREP SCHOOL EXTRAS on a new TYLER PERRY/NICKELODEON show, “YOUNG DYLAN” filming in Atlanta, GA from now til the end of the month of FEBRUARY 2020.

The breakdown for the MINOR FEATURED EXTRAS is:
– ALL RACES TO MAKE UP A DIVERSE PREP SCHOOL
– AGES 9 AND UP (For legal reasons this age is a must)
– MUST BE IN HEIGHT RANGE OF (4’4 to 5’0 tall)
– LOCALS IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA

The rate for extras on this production is $80 for 8hrs of work (Paid time in half each hour after 8hrs which is $15hr), which you will receive in the form of a check in the mail 2 to 3 weeks after filming.

Please have open availability in the month of FEBRUARY 2020 as dates vary through it. Minors will be on set for 10 hours or less and will receive meals and have craft services for snacks throughout the day.

The payment will be by check through the mail. All information for the check will be filled out on a voucher the parent submits upon the minor’s arrival to set.

This is a job, therefore minors will need paperwork for identification from the GA Department of Labor found here.
Minors will receive a work number from the state which is necessary to be hired as an extra.

Once all information is received, the booking process begins.
During booking, someone from casting will call and confirm the minors and parents are still available for filming. They then will receive more information pertaining to the shoot with info such as date, time, location and wardrobe instructions.

The Cast of 'Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn' Could of Looked Very Different

We all know Aidan Gallagher, Casey Simpson, Mace Coronel, Lizzy Greene, who played everyone's favorite quad on Nickelodeon's hit sitcom Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn. It's hard to imagine the show with different actors. But did you know that the cast could of looked quite different?

Aidan has shared a video on his official YouTube channel about the production of the pilot episode of Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn. In the super video, the actor shares fascinating tidbits about the early days of NRDD, including that, before Casey was cast, another familiar Nickelodeon actor was in line to play Ricky: Thomas Kuc from Game Shakers!

In fact, before Mace was cast, another actor was also set to play Dicky!

Henry Danger's Sean Ryan Fox Opens Up About How He's Changed Since Being Cast On The Nickelodeon Show

Ever wondered what it’s like to go from a normal kid in school to a star in one of the most popular children’s televisions shows of all time? Well, that’s pretty much what happened with Henry Danger's Sean Ryan Fox! J-14 recently caught up with the 17-year-old Nickelodeon actor, and he dished all about how his life has changed.

“Before Henry Danger I was just a normal kid going to school, doing homework, hanging with friends, getting into trouble — I mean, I still do that. I was auditioning a lot before Henry Danger, and sometimes I’d have to leave school early to head to LA for the audition and sit in the car for five hours going back in forth in traffic. For the most part, I was just a regular kid,” he said. “After I got Henry Danger the only thing that changed really was school and the fact that I’d be working on set all the time. And yes, I still do school and homework, but it’s now homeschool. I have less time to go out due to working – but I enjoy working, so it’s not too bad.”

But Sean’s busy day-to-day schedule isn’t the only thing that’s changed in his life since starring in the most popular kids’ show around.

“I’ve grown up from a kid to a teen on the show, and a lot of things have changed for me. Things like my perspective on the entertainment industry, the process, my opinions, people, and I also learned about gratitude. I’ve matured a lot more due to Henry Danger than most, because you are in an adult working environment, although it be a light-hearted working environment it’s still a job,” Sean explained. “I guess I could also say that Henry Danger really showed me that, hard work does pay off in the end. After years of auditions and getting super close to getting some roles, I finally got a role and it’s the best role I think I could have gotten.”

“When I got Henry Danger I was really excited to work on a Dan Schneider show. I’ve loved his shows since I was a kid and I thought it was awesome to be a part of one,” he says. “There were shows that once I got into acting I wanted to be on like Victorious, Drake and Josh, and Suite Life of Zack and Cody.”

So how did he get started in the first place? Turns out, it was his sister who introduced the industry to him!

“Originally, my sister Camryn was the one into acting. We had gone to the same school and got out at the same time, which meant that there was no time to drop me off at home when she had auditions. Once when she and my mom were meeting with an agent to represent her, I was with them. Since I was there, the agent went ahead and picked me up to represent me as well. I was so young so I just went with the flow. I really didn’t think about it when I went in for auditions, but after I booked my first job I had such a good time on set I knew I wanted to continue acting.”

The star also dipped his toes into music for a while. While Sean says that that acting is his “primary passion,” he does have a vision for where he’d like to take his sound. “I try to make music that I like and would listen to. I guess you could say that my sound is pop-ish. But right now my sound is a work in progress, and I am working on making it unique and different,” he spills.

The Victorious Cast Says This Is The Best Season Yet!

Just when you thought Victorious couldn't get any better, the new season hit the tube! And not only do we think these all new episodes are some of the best yet, but the cast thinks so, too! While walking the red carpet at the Creative Arts Emmys, the Hollywood Arts posse spilled to ClevverTV on how excited they are for the new shows airing this fall.

When chatting about their thousands of fans and followers, Liz Gillies exclaimed, "They're gonna be so happy to see these episodes coming out!" And Ariana Grande added, "The season that is yet to come out is the best season yet."

But Avan Jogia thinks that the reason these episodes are so fantastic is because their group is tighter than ever! According to Avan, the set was filled with fun and games while shooting the last few episodes. "We just joked around," he said. "It was a good time."

And Avan wasn't alone. Everyone in this star-studded cast agrees. This season is the sweetest because of the close bond the cast shares on and off the screen. "We've really grown a family, you know, three years!" Leon Thomas said. "I think the last couple of episodes are just the complete essence of all of us being friends and being comfortable together," Liz added. And Ariana continued, "The hardest I've ever laughed in my entire life has been with these people."

The brand new "Victorious" episode called "Blooptorious" features interviews, bloopers, and outtakes of all the cast ever since the series began. The show is hosted and narrated by "Christopher Cane", a ventriloquist dummy, who introduces himself as the actor who portrays "Rex".

Nickelodeon promo maker Allan Blatch hinted in a reply comment on Vimeo (for his "Spongebob Top 100 on NickToons" video) that Nickelodeon UK could be planning to show both "iCarly" and "Victorious" blooper specials as part of a special programming stunt soon:

"Victorious" Cast Members Talk About Nickelodeon Not Renewing "Victorious" For A Fourth Season

Since the Nickelodeon News broke on Friday 10th July 2012 that Nickelodeon would not be making a fourth season of the hit Nickelodeon show "Victorious", a few of the Nickelodeon Stars and actresses of "Victorious" have Tweeted (posted) their thoughts and opinions about Nickelodeon's decision to cancel the series to their fans on their official Twitter profile pages.

On her official Twitter feed, Nickelodeon Star and actress Ariana Grande (@ArianaGrande), who portrays the character 'Cat Valentine' on "Victorious", reassured "Victorious" fans and Nickelodeon viewers that even though Nickelodeon has cancelled "Victorious", Nickelodeon's decision has nothing to do with Ariana Grande's and Jennette McCurdy's upcoming brand new Nickelodeon pilot "Sam & Cat", which will be a spin-off from the popular Nickelodeon sitcoms "iCarly" and "Victorious", and that there is still an entire season of brand new episodes to look forward to:

According to Cinefamily's official 'Everything Is Festival 2012' webpage on the official 'The Cinefamily At The Silent Movie Theatre' website, cinefamily.org, as part of the closing night party of this years 'Everything Is Festival', 'Everything Is Festival III: The Domination', Cinefamily will be hosting a very special "The Adventures of Pete and Pete" reunion event on Tuesday 28th August 2012 at The Orpheum Theatre at 842 South Broadway Los Angeles, CA 90014, United States (telephone number (877) 677-4386), where, for one night only, they will assemble and reunite on one stage the creators (Will McRobb and Chris Viscardi (who also wrote the Nickelodeon Movie "Snow Day")) and virtually the entire cast of the classic Nickelodeon show "The Adventures of Pete and Pete", PLUS, there will be live music performed by the band 'Polaris', which consists of band members Mark Mulcahy, Spot "Scott" Boutier, and Dave McCaffrey from the New Haven indie rock band 'Miracle Legion', who provided music for the soundtrack of the popular classic Nickelodeon series "The Adventures of Pete and Pete", including the theme song, "Hey Sandy"!

Nickelodeon UK has revealed on the "What's On" schedule section on the official Nickelodeon UK and Ireland website, Nick.co.uk, that Nickelodeon UK's upcoming 'Victorious In The UK' programming stunt, "Vic In The UK", will be a brand new and exclusive week-long programming block, in which Nick UK will be showing four back-to-back episodes of the popular Nickelodeon show "Victorious" daily on Nickelodeon UK and Ireland and Nickelodeon HD UK starting from Monday 13th August 2012 and Friday 17th August 2012 between 5.00pm and 7.00pm (repeated between 6.00pm and 8.00pm on Nick UK's plus one (+1) timeshift channel, Nick Replay UK), and will also feature exclusive in-vision continuity links featuring clips of when Nickelodeon Star and actress Victoria Justice, who portrays the title character 'Tori Vega' in the hit Nickelodeon sitcom "VicTORIous", visited and toured London, UK in October 2011, when she attended Nickelodeon UK's special "Victorious Cast Fan Event", and/or when Victoria Justice visited the UK in February 2012, over her 19th Birthday, to attend Nickelodeon UK's exclusive "Victorious" fashion show and meet and greet super fans at "Asda Thurrock Living" to celebrate the launch of Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products UK's brand new "Victorious merchandise" line, and to attend the 2012 BRIT Awards ceremony at the O2 Arena in London, UK. Nickelodeon also recently announced that a that "House of Anubis Season Three" will also feature another brand new character called 'KT Rush' (portrayed by actress Alexandra Shipp), who will be "an adventurous, sunny and tenacious American girl who becomes a vital part of the Sibuna gang and partners with Eddie to unlock the new Anubis House mystery".

Unfortunately, Nickelodeon Star and "House of Anubis" actress Nathalia Ramos, who plays the primary protagonist SIBUNA character 'Nina Martin' in the first two seasons of Nickelodeon's popular mystery series "House Of Anubis" has announced and confirmed that she won't be returning to be in the cast of season three of "House of Anubis" due to school related issues.

Roger Barclay, who plays "House of Anubis" villain Rufus Zeno/The Collector, has also confirmed that he also won't be returning to be in the cast of season three of "House of Anubis".
