Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Face Godzilla In Epic New Comic Crossover From IDW

The world’s two favorite multibillion dollar reptile franchises, Nickelodeon’s heroes in the half-shell, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Toho’s Godzilla, the king of monsters, will collide in a new mini-series due out this November from IDW Publishing, the company announced during a San Diego Comic-Con panel that also kicked off a new era and a new Godzilla #1, Forbes is reporting.

According to the announcement, the Godzilla crossover series reveals that the original purpose of the Foot Clan was to protect Japan from the giant monsters known as kaiju, of whom Godzilla is the most fearsome. When Godzilla and pals reappear, the Foot Clan is not only unprepared to stop them, but their current leader, long-time Turtle-hater Shredder, may even be behind the attacks! Could he be after some genetic secret of the kaiju that would allow him to engineer upgraded henchmen capable of accomplishing his evil schemes?

Luckily Leonardo, Raphael, Michaelangelo and Donatello are on the case, high-tailing it to Japan to confront their fiercest foe yet: a certain hundred-foot tall scaly beast with radioactive halitosis. Can they tame the kaiju and stop Shredder’s evil scheme? Spoilers: probably, but it will be lots of fun to watch them try.

Writer Tim Seeley and artist Fero Pe lead the creative team behind the project for IDW. Seeley has written IDW’s top-selling, fan-favorite ongoing Godzilla series. Pe drew the popular TMNT x Stranger Things crossover in 2023.

“There are maybe two or three other ideas in the entire cultural landscape that are as instantly iconic, as perfect in their clarity and conception, as the King of the Monsters and the heroes in a half-shell,” said Jake Williams, editor of the series for IDW, who had words of praise for his creative team. “Mashing them up has been a complete and utter joy. These characters are so perfectly realized that working on this comic feels like bearing witness to a natural encounter between living and breathing beings.”

IDW, historically a top-5 publisher of comics and graphic novels over the past few decades, has recently ridden back to success thanks to its work on licensed books like TMNT and Godzilla. IDW’s Kai-Sei era, the new Godzilla shared universe, is their top-selling title yet, with more than 80k orders for the debut issue of the new ongoing series.

The crossover continues a recent popular industry trend of mashing up characters from different franchises and universes.

Godzilla is no stranger to these kinds of events. Thanks to the success of Toho’s much-anticipated Godzilla: Minus One in 2023, and the ongoing monsters franchise from Legendary, the already-enormous kaiju is bigger than ever, and has been stomping a path of destruction through the comics industry. DC and Marvel have both pitted their superheroes against Big Green, and Legendary has published in-universe comics tied to their own continuity around the character. The division of Godzilla lore into various “eras” helps keep these storylines on their own tracks.

Similarly, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have also had their own fair share of crossovers, including GhostbustersNaruto, Batman, and the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

The first issue of IDW’s TMNT x Godzilla goes on sale November 12, 2025. Retailers are encouraged to get orders in by October 6. Fans can find it at their local comics shop.

Steven Yeun's Role In 'The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender' Movie Revealed

Steven Yeun's role in The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender has finally been revealed!

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Steven Yeun had joined the cast of The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender in an unannounced role, which has remained a mystery, until now.

Speaking to IGN at Comic-Con InternationalAvatar: The Last Airbender co-creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko revealed that Yeun will be voicing Prince Zuko in Nickelodeon Movies and Avatar Studios’ highly-anticipated animated feature film set in the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe!

Yeun takes over the role from Dante Basco, who voiced fan-favorite character in the series.

Konietzko welcomed Yeun back to the Avatar franchise with arms wide open at San Diego Comic-Con, which took place at the San Diego Convention Center in California. "Steven Yeun was Avatar Wan," he said. "He played the first Avatar in The Legend of Korra. We loved working with him, and we're excited to have him back in the universe."

In the acclaimed series, Zuko is the exiled Crown Prince of the imperialist Fire Nation, which started a war between the previously harmonious nations. The Fire Nation values honor above all else, and Zuko is no exception to this. He originally begins as one of Aang's primary adversaries who pursues him before eventually having a change of heart and undergoing one of the greatest redemption arcs. At first, Zuko was not planned to be part of the Avatar: The Last Airbender series, but he went on to become a fan favorite.

As mentioned above, Yeun is no stranger to the Avatarverse, having previously voiced Wan, the first Avatar, in The Legend of Korra, the follow up to ATLA. Unsurprisingly, Konietzko and DiMartino wouldn't budge on whether Yeun will be playing dual roles in the upcoming Avatar movie as Zuko and Wan.

An Oscar nominee for his work in Lee Isaac Chung’s 2020 film Minari, Yeun recently filmed Ben Affleck’s Animals for Netflix. He recently wrapped production on Joe Carnahan’s RIP, in which he stars opposite Matt Damon and Affleck, also for Netflix. He can currently be seen starring in Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17 alongside Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo. Other film credits include Love Me with Kristen Stewart, Jordan Peele’s NopeThe HumansSorry to Bother You and Okja.

On television, he recently starred in and executive produced the award-winning Netflix/A24 series Beef. For his performance he won Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe awards. Other television roles include The Walking DeadTuca & BertieInvincibleStretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters and The Twilight Zone.

Yeun is repped by WME, Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller, Gellman, Meigs & Fox and Narrative.

The Legend of Aang will continue the story begun in the critically acclaimed Nickelodeon animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005), which is set in a world divided into four nations — Water Tribe, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation and Air Nomads — where beings called Benders have the power to control their realm’s element. A figure known as the “Avatar” is the only one who can control all four elements.

The series introduced a 12-year-old named Aang, the long-lost Avatar, and the new movie will pick up with the grown-up Aang (now in his early twenties) and his companions some years after the events of the show's finale.

The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender is being directed by series alum Lauren Montgomery (Superman: DoomsdayWonder WomanJustice League: Crisis on Two Earths) and co-directed by William Mata (Dora and the Fantastical Creatures), with series creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko executive producing alongside Eric Coleman. The voice cast is led by Eric Nam as Aang, Dave Bautista as an unnamed villain, Dionne Quan as Toph, Jessica Matten as Katara, Román Zaragoza as Sokka and Steven Yeun as Zuko. The movie is being produced in association with Domain Entertainment.

The South Korean animation studio Studio Mir, who previously worked with Nickelodeon on Avatar: The Last Airbender spin-off The Legend of Korra in 2014, was recently tapped to work on the film, which will blend 2D animation with modern CG technology to create a unique hybrid look. Australia’s Flying Bark was previously attached in 2022.

Plan International and Paramount Launch Dora-Inspired 'Worthy' Campaign to Support Girls' Education Worldwide

Plan International and Paramount launch "Worthy" campaign to support girls' education worldwide

Dora x Give a Backpack x Plan International

New PSA invites supporters to give back by giving backpacks to girls around the world

WASHINGTON, July 28, 2025 -- Plan International and Paramount, in partnership with Nickelodeon, today launched the next chapter of their global campaign featuring beloved explorer Dora, to raise awareness about the importance of education. At the heart of this year's movement is a joyful new public service announcement, 'Worthy,' set to the empowering anthem by Mavis Staples, celebrating the courage and promise of girls everywhere.

For generations, Dora has inspired young explorers to dream big. Now, her iconic purple backpack is helping girls around the world unlock futures filled with possibility. In the new PSA, girls from across the globe are seen dancing, singing and walking to school — their purple backpacks serving as both a tool and a symbol of confidence, dignity and hope.

"It's not just about what's inside the backpack, but what's inside the girl. Her power, her voice, her potential." -  Shanna Marzilli, president and CEO of Plan International USA.

The 'Worthy' PSA will air across Paramount's Nickelodeon and MTV networks in more than 170 markets worldwide, as well as on social media channels.

Watch the "Worthy" PSA and experience the campaign's message at

This year's campaign is a reflection of Plan's growing partnership with Paramount, which launched on International Day of the Girl last year. Since then, we have delivered backpacks filled with essential school supplies to girls in five countries, helping them show up prepared, proud and ready to learn. For many, this simple gift has made the difference between dropping out and stepping forward into a future full of promise.

Give a girl a backpack — make your $25 gift at www.planusa.org/backpacks.

This year's campaign also powers The Dora Fund, a new initiative that invests in grassroots and youth-led organizations advancing girls' education. By providing direct grants and resources, the fund helps community leaders address barriers to learning and unlock opportunities for girls worldwide.

"It's not just about what's inside the backpack. It's about what's inside the girl — her power, her voice, her potential," said Shanna Marzilli, president and CEO of Plan International USA. "Together with Paramount and Nickelodeon, we're reminding every girl that she is worthy and making sure she has what she needs to lead — not just in school but in life."

A gift of just $25 provides a backpack for a girl in need — and that's just the beginning. When you give, you're not only helping her carry books but also helping her carry her future.

Join the movement:

  • Visit www.planusa.org/backpacks to watch the 'Worthy' PSA and give a backpack.
  • Share the campaign on your social channels using #EveryChildIsWorthy and help spread the message that every girl deserves an education.

The Louds and Clyde are setting off for a fun-filled adventure at summer camp in brand new episodes of The Loud House, starting Friday, August 1 on Nickelodeon!

'The Loud House' cast with logo

In the all-new The Loud House "Summer Camp" story arc, dubbed "Summer Adventures," the Loud family and Clyde arrive for a fun-filled summer at Camp Mastodon.

The Loud House "Summer Camp" story arc will debut on Friday, August 1 at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon, with the storyline expected to continue every Friday at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT). Each episode will lead in to the latest episode of Wylde Pak at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

The first episode in The Loud House "Summer Camp" story arc will serve as the season nine premiere of Nickelodeon's hit animated series, although it's the last episode of the season. The second episode in the story arc will also serve as the show's 10th season premiere episode. As these episodes were produced before Nickelodeon begun splitting seasons of 26 episodes into two to match the number of episodes in a season on streaming services, season nine features the latter half of the episodes originally produced as part of season eight, whilst season 10 features the first half of episodes originally produced for season nine.

Interestingly, the "Summer Camp" story arc will also mark the first time a story arc starts at the end of one season of the Loud House, then carries on over to the beginning of the next season.

Ever wonder what it’s like having a big family? Well, in The Loud House, 11-year-old Lincoln Loud gives viewers an inside look at what it takes to survive in the chaos of a huge household, especially as the only boy with 10 sisters - Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, Lynn, Lucy, Lola, Lana, Lily, and Lisa! The trick to surviving is to remain calm, cool, and collected. But most importantly for Lincoln, you’ve got to have a plan. With all the chaos, and craziness, one thing is always for sure: there is never a dull moment in the Loud house.

As one of the longest-running animated series on Nickelodeon with 196 episodes, the property also has been translated into a comic book series, which continues to roll out new stories, chapter books, a digital album, and a podcast, Listen Out Loud, along with companion series The Casagrandes and multiple movies. The series is executive produced by Michael Rubiner. Kyle Marshall serves as co-executive producer, and Ashley Kliment-Baker is the art director.
