LEGO Releases New "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" Movie Sets In The UK
ToyNews, a monthly trade magazine for the toy business, is reporting the Booyakasha TMNT news in the following article that to celebrate and promote Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures' upcoming "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie, LEGO has released three new tie-in LEGO play sets based on Nick's new TMNT film!
The Turtle Van Takedown set (£39.99) sees Vern and Raphael speed through the streets of New York City in the Turtle Van to rescue Michelangelo from a Foot Soldier.
Elsewhere, the Big Rig Snow Getaway (£69.99) features the Heroes in a Half Shell and April O'Neil as they attempt to escape Karai and the Foot Soldiers in the Big Rig truck.
The Turtle Lair Invasion set (£79.99) allows fans to recreate the Turtle Lair as it is attacked by Shredder and his Foot Soldiers. Fans can grab the weapons and defend the manhole cover entrance to the Turtle Lair or shut the cage door to trap intruders. This set includes six minifigures: Splinter, Donatello, Leonardo, Shredder and two Foot Soldiers.
Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" film is a modern-day iteration of the popular franchise that has captivated audiences of all ages for decades. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April O'Neil (Megan Fox) and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett) to save New York City and unravel Shredder's diabolical plan. Based on the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" characters created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman, written by Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec and Evan Daugherty, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is produced by Michael Bay (director and executive producer of the blockbuster "Transformers" franchise), Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, Galen Walker, Scott Mednick and Ian Bryce and directed by Jonathan Liebesman ("Wrath of the Titans"). Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies' summer blockbuster film, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", will be released in Digital 3D and 2D in cinemas across the UK on Friday 17th October 2014.
In additional TMNT movie news, Digital Spy caught up with stars Megan Fox and Will Arnett, along with original Turtles creator Kevin Eastman and writers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form, to discuss working on the Michael Bay-produced reboot, and the initial fan backlash. "We stayed true to who the Turtles are," said Arnett. "These four distinct characters and the way that they work together as a unit, the idea that they're a team, and they're family. That idea, at the core, we did not deviate from." Megan Fox and Will Arnett also reveal what fans can expect from the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie.

NEW YORK, July 29, 2014 – What is it like to be deaf? What is it like to not hear music, friends, family, the phone, a smoke alarm or an oncoming car? Kids who are deaf share their experiences in the brand-new Nick News With Linda Ellerbee half-hour special, "Now Hear This! What If You Were Deaf?" premiering Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.

"Being deaf is challenging. But I can do many things hearing people can do, I just do it differently," says Cici, 12, from Florissant, Mo. Isabella, 12, from Hopedale, Mass., was born deaf to deaf parents and uses American Sign Language to communicate. "I'm okay with never hearing anything. I don't need to have surgery or use a hearing aid."

Sammie, 12, from McKinney, Texas, was born with a serious hearing loss that got worse as she got older. She decided a cochlear implant, which can help some deaf people hear, was the right choice for her. "My parents presented the pros and cons, and I was really excited about the pros," she says. "It's like a bionic ear. I'm part robot."
Arbab, 14, from Philadelphia, Penn. has a different life. "I'm the only deaf person in my family and nobody in my family signs at all...we just use gestures," he says. "I do wish I was more connected with my family but they're all hearing, so the deaf world really becomes my family."
"All deaf kids live (or have lived) with outside pressure to adapt to a hearing world — to be like everyone else," says Ellerbee. "Well, what's so special about being like everyone else? Perhaps the biggest problem facing kids who don't hear is a hearing world that doesn't listen."

Kaylee Wells, of King City, Missouri, pictured with her interpreter, Sarah Schottel, will appear on the upcoming Nick News with Linda Ellerbee, Now Hear This! What If You Were Deaf? Photo: Martin Toub/Lucky Duck Productions
Kaylee, 11, from King City, Mo., doesn't know any other deaf people, doesn't have an implant and goes to a public school. She is able to communicate because the kids and teachers at her school made a concentrated effort to learn sign language so Kaylee doesn't feel left out.
"I know that the world is different from my school because not all hearing people know sign language," she says. "I wish that all hearing people from around the world would know sign language so I could always feel included."
