Nick Jr. UK To Premiere "Wanda and the Alien" On Monday 5th January 2015
The online British and Irish TV guide website Digiguide is reporting the exciting news that Nick Jr. UK and Ireland, Nickelodeon UK's top-performing preschool channel, will start to premiere and show the brand-new animated preschool series "Wanda and the Alien" from Monday 5th January 2015 at 7:00pm (encored at 9:00pm; repeated at 8:00pm and 10:00pm on Nick Jr+1)! Following the shows debut, Nick Jr. UK will continue to premiere brand-new episodes of "Wanda and the Alien" weekdays at 7:00pm (encored at 9:00pm; repeated at 8pm and 10pm on Nick Jr. +1).
Friends come in all shapes and sizes. Based on the books by best selling author Sue Hendra, "Wanda and the Alien" is a pre-school animated series about wonder and unconditional friendship. When a young and scared alien crashes with his space rocket into the woods, little rabbit Wanda's world becomes even more interesting and exciting. After a few moments of hesitation, they are now the best friends in the universe.
The Alien has a unique gift that makes him very special: he can freeze a moment in time so that you can see the magical details in it from different points of view. Even a splash in the water can become special if you can catch it and wear it like a crown! Combining an enchanting story with the best 2D animation, every episode sees the two characters exploring the beauty and the wonders of Wanda's charming forest and the Alien's incredible and funny planet, while highlighting the importance of values such as friendship, trust and kindness. Follow Wanda and the little Alien as they discover things out of their worlds!
"Wanda and the Alien" (52 x 10 minutes) is co-produced by UK-based Random House and Komixx Entertainment.
Nickelodeon acquired the rights to Random House Children's Screen Entertainment's "Wanda and the Alien" under a global deal (excluding the US) with London-based distributor CAKE in 2013 that will see the new animated preschool series head to more than 70 Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. channels around the world (Nickelodeon International). The Nickelodeon deal marks the first key international agreement for "Wanda and the Alien" and a large step for Random House's first book-to-screen venture.
"Wanda and the Alien" Creative Team - Producers: Chris Bowden, Andrew Cole-Bulgin & Richard Randolph; Executive Producers: Ed Glauser, Ian Mackinnon & Peter Saunders; Series Directors: Will Brenton & Jez Hall.
Below is a list of currently announced new "Wanda and the Alien" episodes set to debut on Nick Jr. UK, with episode descriptions:

SINGAPORE, 10 DECEMBER 2014 – Nickelodeon in Asia is kicking off 2015 by welcoming Oggy and the Cockroaches, to its programming line-up. In the year ahead, Nickelodeon will deliver fresh hits, a deep pipeline of new series, and tent-pole events tailor-made for the tastes of today’s post-millennial generation of kids. One of the most beloved cartoons globally, Oggy and the Cockroaches is a worldwide hit broadcasting in over 150 countries on major networks. Featuring Oggy the cat, your typical victim, and three cockroaches, who won’t leave him alone, the show premieres as a two-hour marathon on Thursday, 1 January 2015 at 12pm (HK/PH/SG), 12.15pm (TH/WIB) and 1.15pm (MY) before beginning its regular timeslot on weekdays from Monday, 5 January at 5pm (PH), 5.05pm (TH/WIB), 6.05pm (MY) and 6.50pm (HK/SG).
Oggy and the Cockroaches reimagines "old-fashioned" slapstick cartoons in an ever-fresh hit battling good versus bad and big versus little. The simplicity of the plotline with wild chase scenes and endearing characters, complemented by the lack of dialogue and the colourful world of animation, brings together families of all ages for an enjoyable co-viewing experience. The cartoon was produced during 1998 to 2013 and has enjoyed 15 years of television success with a total of four seasons and garnered over 2.2 million fans on its Facebook page.
Nickelodeon in the U.S. has been chalking up ratings wins this year, driven by strong performances from its hit live-action and animation slate of programmes such as The Thundermans, The Haunted Hathaways, and SpongeBob SquarePants. It closed 2Q14 as basic cable's number-one network in total day with Kids 2-11 (2.6/834K) and total viewers (1.6M), marking the network's third consecutive quarter at the top. It was the top-rated total day network for the 3Q14 with Kids 2-11 (2.4/748K); and among total viewers, the network averaged 1.4M P2+ that quarter.
In 2015, Nickelodeon will be running year-long campaigns “SpongeBob SquarePants: Everything is Funnier with Friends” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Heroes, Brothers, Dudes,” as well as bringing to viewers new seasons of returning hit series The Haunted Hathaways, Winx Club and Rabbids Invasion. It will continue to deliver laughs for kids by building its slate with even more content including just-released Breadwinners and Max & Shred, and new original series Dora and Friends: Into the City!, Alvin!!! and the Chipmunks, and Bad Seeds.
About Oggy and the Cockroaches
Oggy and the Cockroaches is the explosive face-off of a cat with three pests—but this time, the victim is the cat himself, and his tormentors are nature's ugliest, filthiest, most offensive creatures. Oggy would be the happiest of cats if three cockroaches, Joey, Dee-Dee and Marky hadn't settled inside his comfortable house. In this fast-paced family series, Oggy fights to defend his home turf from the unwelcome pests, making for wild chase scenes and laughs for all ages. True to cartoon tradition, there's a happy end on the horizon. Despite his agonies, Oggy always comes out on top... well, nearly always.
