Ayush, 11, and his family travelled abroad for the first time ever when they jetted out of South Africa to take part in the grand finale in New Jersey.

Racing against the clock, Ayush managed to grab a giant heap of toys and gadgets - mostly electronic devices not currently available in SA stores. His new toy collection consists of: drones with cameras, exclusive Fast and Furious model cars, virtual reality headsets, limited edition XBox and PS4 consoles, and accessories to go with them, and Nerf Guns - to mention but a few.

The highlight of Ayush’s trip was a visit to the Top of the Rock (the viewing platform at the top of the Rockerfeller Center), where he was mesmerised by breathtaking views of New York. He also loved travelling on the famed New York subway, taking a ferry trip across the Hudson River to the Statue of Liberty, and sightseeing on the hop-on, hop-off bus.

“I would have to say that every day was a totally extraordinary day in New York as there were so many amazing sites….it was just like the movies, so picturesque!!!”

The trip included many firsts for the intrepid young explorer as he tried hot dogs and Bagel’s Monster Pretzels, which he reports were all yummy! His advice to any kid who might win a prize like this? “Enjoy every moment and make memories forever…and have fun, fun, fun!”
