Paramount COO Andrew Gumpert Expands Role to Include Nickelodeon Studios

Gumpert will report to Paramount Pictures Head Brian Robbins

Paramount Pictures Chief Operating Officer Andrew Gumpert will be expanding his role to encompass Nickelodeon Studios, the studio announced on Monday, March 28.

Gumpert will now serve as Chief Operating Officer, Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Studios, reporting to Paramount Pictures Head Brian Robbins, who made the announcement in a companywide memo.

Read the memo below:

Team,

As we continue to identify synergies and optimize the strengths of our business across theatrical, streaming, and linear, leaning into the goal of future proofing our financials that I outlined for 2022, I want to let you know about a key leadership update. Effective immediately, Andrew Gumpert, Paramount Pictures Chief Operating Officer, will be expanding his role to encompass Nickelodeon Studios, serving now as Chief Operating Officer, Paramount Pictures & Nickelodeon Studios, reporting into me.

Andrew first joined Paramount Pictures as COO in 2017. He oversees business affairs, labor relations, legal, studio operations, and strategic planning for the film studio. During his tenure, Andrew has played an integral role in returning the studio to strength and profitability by helping fuel growth in our franchises and iconic brands including Mission: Impossible, Sonic, Star Trek, and Transformers. He has overseen negotiations with our key creative, strategic, and financial partners, growing our revenue sources and evolving our business models in the pandemic and streaming era.

Prior to joining Paramount, Andrew was president of worldwide business affairs and operations for the SPE Motion Picture Group, where he oversaw negotiations for many of the studio’s most high-profile productions, and structured and managed the studio’s financial partnerships with entities including Lonestar Capital, Village Roadshow, and MGM. Andrew began his career as business litigator with the law firm of Hill, Wynne, Troop and Meisinger.

As we continue to position our company for growth and success, Andrew’s leadership and deep relationships will be a vital component. Please join me in congratulating him on this next chapter.

–Brian

Mr. Crocker Returns in New 'The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder' Sneak Peek

Mr. Crocker makes his triumphant return in a new sneak peek for the Paramount+ live-action series, The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder! The spinoff of the Nickelodeon animated series The Fairly OddParents drops its entire 13-episode first season on Thursday, March 31st, exclusively on Paramount+. Voice actor Carlos Alazraqui (Rocko's Modern Life) returns to voice Mr. Crocker in The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder, which uses a combination of live-action and animation to bring the beloved characters back to viewers' screens. Mr. Crocker is joined by the live-action Vicky, played by Mary Kate Wiles, for a musical number.

The new preview clip, available to watch on ComicBook.com, comes from Episode 13, titled "Fairies Away! Part 2." Mr. Crocker barges in to give Vicky his "master plan," which he decides to instead deliver in a rousing song. Vicky tries to greet Mr. Crocker with a hug, but is told, "Singing first, then hug." Ty (James Hatanaka) and Rachel (Laura Bell Bundy) are being remote-controlled by Vicky to dance and sing along as well.

A description of The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder reads: "All 13 episodes of the debut season of The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder will be available to stream beginning Thursday, March 31, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., Canada, Australia, Nordics and Latin America.

"Combining live action and animation and produced by Nickelodeon Studios, The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder will pick up years after the original ended by following Timmy Turner's cousin, Vivian "Viv" Turner, and her new stepbrother, Roy Raskin, as they navigate life in Dimmsdale with the help of their fairy godparents, Wanda and Cosmo.

"In the series, Ty Turner uproots his life to reunite with his high school sweetheart, Rachel Raskin, in the town of Dimmsdale, thrusting his cautious 13-year-old daughter, Viv, into a new world where she does not fit in. Once there, Viv's cousin, Timmy, entrusts his fairy godparents, Wanda and Cosmo, to help her adjust by taking her under their wings. Witnessing the fairy transfer take place, Viv's charismatic new stepbrother, Roy, also inherits them, and the two siblings must take turns making wishes. Together, they learn to overcome the obstacles in their path, all with the help from their new wand-wielding and wish-granting fairy godparents.

"Nickelodeon's beloved animated The Fairly OddParents series, which ran from 2001-2017 with 172 episodes, followed the magical adventures of 10-year-old Timmy Turner and his well-meaning fairy godparents who grant him wishes. During its run, The Fairly OddParents became one of Nickelodeon's most beloved properties from both fans and critics alike, having won and been nominated for dozens of awards. All 10 seasons of the original The Fairly OddParents are available to binge on Paramount+."

All 13 episodes of The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder arrive on Paramount+ March 31st.

Paramount Plus to Premiere 10 New Episodes of 'Rugrats' on April 15

Hold on to your diapees, babies, as Paramount+ will premiere 10 brand new episodes of Nickelodeon's CG-animated Rugrats reboot series on Friday, April 15!

From Nickelodeon Animation Studio, the brand-new RUGRATS series is a reimagining of the classic ‘90s hit that features rich and colorful CG-animation and follows the babies—Tommy, Chuckie, Angelica, Susie, and Phil and Lil—as they explore the world and beyond from their pint-sized and wildly imaginative point-of-view. Currently in its first season, the all-new RUGRATS first premiered on Paramount+ in May 2021, and a second season has been commissioned.

The series stars EG Daily (Tommy Pickles), Nancy Cartwright (Chuckie Finster), Cheryl Chase (Angelica Pickles), Cree Summer (Susie Carmichael), and Kath Soucie (Phil and Lil DeVille), all of whom are reprising their iconic roles in this new series.

The original adventurous babies’ voice cast is joined by new voices, including Ashley Rae Spillers and Tommy Dewey (Tommy’s parents, Didi and Stu Pickles); Tony Hale (Chuckie’s father, Chas Finster); Natalie Morales (Phil and Lil’s mother, Betty DeVille); Anna Chlumsky and Timothy Simons (Angelica’s parents, Charlotte and Drew Pickles); Nicole Byer and Omar Miller (Susie’s parents, Lucy and Randy Carmichael); and Michael McKean (Grandpa Lou Pickles).

Produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio, the all-new RUGRATS is based on the series created by Arlene Klasky, Gabor Csupo, and Paul Germain. Kate Boutilier (“Rugrats”) and Casey Leonard (“Breadwinners”) are executive producers and Dave Pressler (“Robot and Monster”) and Rachel Lipman (“Rugrats”) serve as co-executive producers, with Kellie Smith (“The Fairly OddParents”) as line producer on season two. Charlie Adler (“Rugrats”) serves as the voice director. Production is overseen by Mollie Freilich, Senior Manager, Current Series Animation, Nickelodeon.

The original “Rugrats” series launched August 11, 1991 and instantly became a groundbreaking phenomenon, spawning consumer products and three hit theatrical releases, cementing its place in pop culture history through its iconic characters, storytelling and unique visual style. “Rugrats” was in production for nine seasons over the course of 13 years. The series earned four Daytime Emmy Awards, six Kids' Choice Awards, and its own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
