SpongeBob Meets His EARLY DESIGN Thanks To A Fan | Vailskibum94

An early design of SpongeBob SquarePants depicts Bob The Sponge wearing a strange hat, with an oval body shape and a few other differences. SpongeBob fan and artist YinYangGio has given us a wild encounter: what if the final version of SpongeBob met his earlier design?

Before SpongeBob creator Stephen Hillenburg could fully come up with his cartoon, he experimented with different designs for the main character. Bob The Sponge is actually what this character was known as in some of the earliest iterations, later being changed to SpongeBob. The differences between these two designs reveal how much a show can change behind the scenes. SpongeBob's final appearance on Nickelodeon is obviously a heavy improvement over his early counterpart.
