Stockton Youngster Wins Nickelodeon UK's "Raise Your Voice" Competition

She's a Barbie girl - and now she's off to meet Little Mix, thanks to a competition by Barbie, Little Mix and Nickelodeon UK!

Stockton youngster Brooke Burke's singing talent caught the ears of the X Factor-winning girl band after she entered the "Raise Your Voice" campaign.

To promote the new "Barbie in Rock 'n Royals" DVD and toy range, fans aged five to 15 were asked to sing and record their own version of the Barbie song "Raise Our Voices" so Little Mix could choose their favourite.

And from hundreds of entries nationwide, it was Brooke who bagged the first prize of a "meet and greet" with the girls, four concert tickets and lots of Barbie goodies! The primary school pupil Brooke, six, will now meet her pop idols in Newcastle in March 2016.

But it meant a dilemma for Brooke's proud parents Tom, 29, training and development manager with the Daisy Chain autism charity, and Mum Stacey, 32, a primary school teacher in Eaglescliffe.

Tom explained: "We'd already bought her Little Mix tickets for her birthday, so we've given them away to family.

"She does like the Barbie movies but I think it was Little Mix who pulled her into entering the competition - she's a massive fan.

"I think we were more proud than she was - I'm not sure she understood what an achievement it is."

Brooke loves singing and dancing and has attended the Harlequin Stage School in Stockton since she was four. And little sister Layla, two, may even follow in her footsteps, having already taken up dancing herself.

Barbie Parters With Little Mix And Nickelodeon UK For "Raise Your Voice" Campaign

Barbie is partnering with pop sensations Little Mix and Nickelodeon UK, the number one commercial kids TV network in the UK, for a new campaign called "Raise Your Voice"!

Through the medium of music, Barbie is encouraging girls to express themselves and 'Raise Your Voice'. Girls will have the chance to enter a singing competition in addition to celebrating the launch of the new "Barbie in Rock 'n Royals" DVD and toy range.

To enter, fans can visit the official campaign website, www.nick.co.uk/barbie, to upload a video of themselves singing!

Wendy Hill, Brand Activation Director, said: "Barbie has always fuelled imagination, inspired creativity and encouraged self-expression and we are delighted to be working with Little Mix who are such an inspiration to girls in how they have found their voices through music."

The campaign began on Saturday 5th September 2015 and runs in partnership with Nickelodeon until Sunday 25th October 2015. It will include sponsorship, TV promotion and online banner advertising featuring Little Mix. The lucky winner will be selected by Little Mix and will get to meet the band at one of their Little Mix 2016 UK Tour concerts!

The campaign will be supported with a fully integrated marketing campaign across TV, digital, social and retail including partnership with major mum and girl's websites.

Mattel has sustainably increased investment in the Barbie brand in the second half of the year which includes the Raise Your Voice Campaign plus an up-weighted TV plan. Successful campaigns for this year have included the launch of Fashionistas dolls. Richard Dickson, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Mattel, Inc., has announced the exciting Nickelodeon news during a conference call with analysts on Thursday 16th April 2015 to discuss the company's 1Q15 earnings report, that Nickelodeon will be the on-air home for Mattel's full 2015 slate of three brand-new Barbie movies, with Nick USA holding multiple broadcast events throughout the year!:

[...] Activating our IP through content partnerships is key to the success of kids’ brands large and small and having the right content and distribution channels to best connect with the brand’s target is far more important than creating content tonnage. That’s why we are proud to announce that Nickelodeon is the on-air home for our full 2015 slate of three new Barbie movies, with multiple broadcast events throughout the year. Nick is a great partner to Mattel and this represents the beginning of an even stronger relationship with the Barbie brand.

Mattel will also release each all-new Barbie movie onto DVD.

The animation news website Toon Zone is reporting that Nickelodeon UK has announced the exciting news that Nick Jr. UK and Ireland, Nickelodeon UK's preschool channel, will be airing brand-new episodes of "Paw Patrol" and "Lily's Driftwood Bay" plus three brand-new Barbie movies as part of the channels Autumn/Winter 2014 programming highlights!

As part of Nick Jr. UK's A/W 2014 programming highlights, Nickelodeon UK's popular preschool channel will be premiering and showing more brand-new episodes of Nickelodeon Preschools hit CG-animated series "Paw Patrol" in November 2014, featuring young Ryder and his team of rescue Dogs continuing to protect Adventure Bay from danger.

Nickelodeon UK To Show "Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse" Special In October 2013

ToyNews, a monthly trade magazine for the toy business, is reporting the exciting Nickelodeon UK news in the following article that following a deal with Mattel, Inc., the world's largest toy company, the popular CG-animated web series "Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse" is set to premiere on Nickelodeon UK & Ireland and Nickelodeon HD UK this month (October 2013) with a special 22 minute episode!

The series, which follows the life of the popular fashion doll and her friends,

The series is set in a fictional version of Malibu, California where all of its inhabitants are dolls. The dolls though, act as people living normal lives and are aware of their own natures. The series centers on the life of Barbie, her friends, siblings and her boyfriend Ken. The series is stylized as mock reality show featuring confessionals of the characters in-between scenes. The show has already had more than 550 million views worldwide, and Mattel looks forward to this increasing as the show joins the Netflix roster in December 2013.

"Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse" recently celebrated its fourth season with more scheduled for 2014 featuring new content for older girls and a new product range to compliment the series. The show is currently translated into 21 different languages across the globe.
