Nickelodeon Africa Announces NickFest Nigeria 2018 [Updated W/ Press Release]

NICKELODEON BRINGS FUN FAMILY-CENTRIC ENTERTAINMENT TO YOU AT THE FEDERAL PALACE HOTEL, SATURDAY 29 & SUNDAY 30 SEPTEMBER 2018


Nickelodeon Africa has announced the aweslime news that, following the tremendous success of their inaugural Nick Fest Nigeria event in 2017, Nickelodeon, in partnership with Maltina is ready to make Nigeria a more playful place once again with the second edition of NickFest happening on the 29th & 30th Of September 2018 at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace, Victoria Island, Lagos!

Bigger and better than ever, NickFest Nigeria will welcome thousands of kids and families to The Balmoral Convention Centre at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th September 2018 for an amazing weekend of music and family fun, packed with family-friendly entertainment, activities, events and experiences that are guaranteed to captivate audiences for all ages!



Thrilling kids and parents alike, NickFest brings families together thanks to its unique combination of live music from Nigerian A-listers, character shows, and appearances by Nickelodeon superstars. And, of course, there will be lots of Nickelodeon’s trademark slime - gallons and gallons in the awesome Slime Area!

NickFest provides excitement and interactivity for children and teenagers with unique designated activities for pre-schoolers, primary school goers, tweens, teens and everyone in between.

More information about the hosts, performers and celebrities who will be appearing at NickFest 2018 will be announced in the coming weeks.

Nigeria's first fun-filled NickFest experience in 2017, put together by Viacom International Media Networks Africa (VIMNA) in partnership with Maltina, welcomed over 4,000 kids and families to Nigeria's first-ever NickFest, who splashed around in thousands of litres of gloriously gooey slime at the legendary Slime Zone, as the Balmoral Convention Centre was transformed into a massive kiddies’ wonderland with amazing toys, fun games and activities, and plenty of color, notably the bright orange Nickelodeon and Maltina logos, which helped achieved a vibrantly playful ambience.

Hosted by IK Osakioduwa and Emmanuela of Mark Angel Comedy, the event featured appearances from many top-notch popular celebrities such Yemi Alade, Mr. P (Paul of P-Square), illbliss, Simi, Chioma Akpotha, Ill Blizz, Mr. Eazi, Samantha Walsh and Ehiz, who got slimed several times over to raise awareness and funds for The North East Children’s Trust.

Parents and guardians also had a wonderful time channeling their inner child as they joined the slime dunk at the Slime Zone. The music stars entertained the attendees with their family-friendly songs setting the whole venue into a fun-filled sing-along stage.

The festival also featured the popular Nickelodeon characters, including Shimmer and Shine, SpongeBob SquarePants, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Leo, Donnie, Raph and Mikey - and PAW Patrol's very own Ryder, Chase, Marshall, Rubble and Sky, who dazzled both kids and parents with amazing performances.

NICKELODEON’S NICKFEST IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MALTINA


IS SET TO BE BIGGER, BETTER & SLIMIER!



NIGERIA’s biggest family festival, Nickelodeon NickFest in partnership with Maltina is set to take place in Lagos on September 29th and 30th. Viacom International Media Networks Africa (VIMN Africa) the leading provider of premium 360-degree entertainment is continuing their partnership with Maltina following the great success for both brands in 2017.

NickFest 2018 will deliver a fun-filled experience for families promising to be a captivating experience for various age groups with unique family-friendly events. The weekend will feature Nickelodeon’s superstar characters in brand new shows: the world’s most popular, irreverent sea sponge, SpongeBob Square Pants; Adventure Bay’s intrepid pups, Skye, Rubble Marshall and Chase from Paw Patrol: the feisty and fun Dora the Explorer with her animal rescuer cousin, Diego and Dora’s best pal, Boots. Shimmer and Shine, the two genies who can solve any problem will join in the fun as part of the amazing character lineup. Kids and parents can look forward to lots of singing, dancing and pure laugh aloud fun as they are whisked away to their favorite Nickelodeon characters worlds.

Kids and parents can also look forward to seeing the fun and friendly face of Maltina’s Happy character. This year Happy will be centre stage at the popular Maltina Happy Land atNickFest. For the first time, Happy will be performing his very own show which will surprise and delight kids and parents at Maltina Happy Land.

The popular Slime Zone will have more gooey green slime and a number of slime activities for the Nickelodeon Slime fans. A major highlight of NickFest is The Celebrity Slime Challenge where popular personalities are slimed green in an effort to raise both awareness and funds for children support through NGO projects in Nigeria.
