From TUDUM By Netflix:

Emily in Paris Says Adieu with Upcoming Final Season

Production has started on Season 6 of the series about the titular American expat.

Everyone’s favorite marketing executive is returning for one last adventure: Emily in Paris will end with Season 6, which is now filming.

The fashion comedy’s star, Lily Collins, announced the news with a video, which you can see above. “Season 6 will bring you everything you love about the show and serve as the final chapter in Emily’s adventure of a lifetime,” Collins says.

Greece is the first stop for Season 6 production. Emily in Paris will then jet off to Monaco and, finally, return to the City of Light. Would you expect anything less fabulous for Emily Cooper’s (Collins) final escapade? Writer, creator, and executive producer Darren Star agrees.

“Making Emily in Paris with this extraordinary cast and crew has been the trip of a lifetime. As we embark on the final season, I am so grateful to Netflix, Paramount, and, most importantly, the fans who have taken this incredible journey with us,” he says. “We can’t wait to share this last chapter with you. Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives, inspiring your dreams of travel and your love of Paris. We will always have Emily in Paris!”

Collins’s video serves as a reminder of all the joy — and sparkle — that happens behind the scenes of Emily in Paris. Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie Grateau), Ashley Park (Mindy Chen), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Lucien Laviscount (Alfie), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc) William Abadie (Antoine Lambert), and the rest of the cast can be seen in the clip. “I can’t wait for all the magic ahead and to celebrate our final season with you in the most chic way yet!” Collins says. “I’m so incredibly grateful.”

The upcoming season will follow in the well-heeled footsteps of Season 5, which saw Emily take a bit of a Roman holiday. In Rome, she’s romanced by Italian cashmere heir Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) — naturally! — before realizing her heart yearns for the home she built in Paris. Meanwhile, Emily’s best friend, Mindy, gets engaged to her own fashion designer beau, Nicolas de Léon (Paul Forman) — but has a spark with Alfie (Laviscount) that can’t seem to be extinguished.

So, what’s next for Emily, Mindy, and the rest of their stylish friends? You’ll have to stay tuned to Tudum for more information on the final season of Emily in Paris — santé!

This caps Emily in Paris‘ journey, which stared with a 2018 series order at Paramount Network, where it was supposed to be paired with Star’s TV Land dramedy Younger. Emily in Paris moved to Netflix ahead of its first season, originally produced for Paramount Network by MTV Entertainment Studios. The studio’s parent company went through two mergers since, Viacom-CBS and Paramount-Skydance. The studio underwent a couple of transformations too; it is now Paramount Television Studios.

The Greece location picks up from the Season 5 finale cliffhanger, in which Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) sent Emily (Collins) a postcard from the ancient country, asking her to meet him there.

Star at the time told Deadline that the duo reconnecting “definitely hints at the idea that they’ll stay in each other’s lives.” This being the final season and Emily accepting Gabriel’s invitation also hints that fans may get what they had been hoping for since Episode 1 — that the star-crossed lovers are endgame.

Collins addressed the show’s fans in a video, which you can watch above.

“Season 6 will bring you everything you love about the show and serve as the final chapter in Emily’s adventure of a lifetime,” she said. “Our entire cast and crew are pouring our hearts into making this a fantastic farewell season, which we’re now filming. I can’t wait for all of the magic ahead, and to celebrate our final season with you in the most chic way yet. We’re so incredibly grateful, and we love you all.”

Seasons 1–5 of Emily in Paris, which made its Netflix debut in 2020, have spent 32 weeks on the streamer’s Global Top 10 list and reached No. 1 in 90 countries. The series has inspired fashion trends and memes and has boosted tourism to France, getting praise from French President Emmanuel Macron for its role in bringing visitors to the country.

Emily in Paris started with the eponymous heroine (Collins), an ambitious twentysomething marketing executive from Chicago, unexpectedly landing her dream job in Paris. Her new life is filled with adventures and challenges as she juggles work, friendships and romance.
