Blenheim Palace has announced that preschool favourites Pip and Posy will be returning to Adventure Play this spring with the launch of Pip and Posy Play at the Palace.
From Friday 23rd May 2025, young adventurers can step into the world of Pip and Posy as they embark on an exciting Rainbow Treasure Hunt, inspired by an episode from Magic Light Pictures’ hugely popular Pip and Posy series which airs on Sky Kids and Channel 5’s Milkshake!
Following the huge popularity of the October half-term trail, Pip and Posy Play at the Palace will start in May and run for two years. Designed for young families, the experience brings to life the charming Pip and Posy universe within Blenheim Palace’s Adventure Play, and features 3D character installations, themed activities, audio snippets and a magical treasure trail.

The Rainbow Treasure Hunt follows a special storyline inspired by the popular Pip and Posy episode "Rainbow Treasure Hunters". Visitors can embark on a fun-filled journey alongside Pip and Posy, following clues and discovering hidden treasures throughout Adventure Play, making for an unforgettable and interactive experience.

Visitors wanting to take a well-earned rest can listen to tales from the Pip and Posy books, published by Nosy Crow, in the storytelling area, and there will be an opportunity for fans to meet the playful pair themselves in special appearances at select times during the trail period.
Magic Light Pictures has teamed up with Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire to bring families an immersive Pip and Posy-themed trail that will guide children through a series of activities this autumn.
BAFTA-winning and Oscar-nominated production company Magic Light Pictures has announced a collaboration with Oxfordshire UNESCO World Heritage Site, Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, to launch a Pip and Posy-themed immersive trail at its family-themed attraction Adventure Play this autumn.
Currently delighting viewers on Channel 5’s Milkshake!, Nick Jr. and Sky Kids, pre-school favourite Pip and Posy is inspired by the hugely popular books from award-winning illustrator Axel Scheffler and published by Nosy Crow. Packed with warmth and comedy, the top-rating series features the adventures of two best friends whose lives revolve around play and celebrates their great friendship with all its ups and downs.
The new trail, which opened on Tuesday 1st October 2024, guides children through a series of imaginative and engaging activities. Along the way, little explorers will complete tasks and traverse the immersive play area featuring secret chambers, clamber nets, tunnels, slides, rope bridges and giant carrots.
The trail will be transformed with a Halloween theme, with young guests encouraged to dress up in their favourite costumes and enjoy a variety of free activities. On Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd November, there will be appearances from Pip and Posy costume characters and there will be storytelling sessions with TV tie-in books from the series, which are also published by Nosy Crow. Readings will take place daily throughout October in Adventure Play at 11:30am and 2:00pm.

Magic Light Pictures’ new pre-school series Pip and Posy Let’s Learn launches today exclusively on all Sky Kids platforms.
In the series – a spin-off from Magic Light’s hugely popular Pip and Posy – Pip and Posy look at educational concepts in their playful way to bring a sense of wonder and delight to learning. Young viewers will play with Pip, Posy and their friends to learn concepts from the early years curriculum, such as shape sorting and simple maths, in exciting and inventive ways.
The 26 x 5’ series will be available across all Sky platforms – Sky Kids Channel, Sky Kids app, Sky Go, Sky+, Sky Q, Stream and Glass – with the first episode launched on Sky Kids linear at 7.30am this morning, and the first six episodes available on demand from around 6.00am.
Commissioned by Lucy Murphy, director of Sky Kids, exclusively for the channel, the spin-off series re-emphasises the broadcaster’s commitment to Pip and Posy – Magic Light’s first-ever pre-school series, inspired by the best-selling books from award-winning illustrator Axel Scheffler and written by Camilla Reid. Proving a huge hit from launch on both Channel 5’s Milkshake! and Sky Kids, the show was quickly recommissioned by both parties for a second series, which debuted earlier this year.
Packed with warmth and humour, Pip and Posy is a joyful celebration of the pair’s great friendship, its laughter and games, its ups and downs, as their lives revolve around a wonderful world of play. Sky Kids in the U.K. has announced Pip and Posy Let’s Learn, a brand new spin-off series from Milkshake and Nick Jr. UK & Ireland's hit animated preschool series, Pip and Posy, based on books by Gruffalo-illustrator Axel Scheffler.
In Pip and Posy Let’s Learn, viewers will play with Pip, Posy and their friends as they use their amazing sense of fun, imagination and rhyme to explore a range of subjects. The series aims to teach concepts from the early years curriculum, such as shape sorting and simple maths, in exciting and inventive ways.
Targeted towards children aged 3+, Pip and Posy Let’s Learn (26x5”) was commissioned by Lucy Murphy, Director of Sky Kids and Director of Kids Content at Sky UK. The Commissioning Editor for Sky is Estelle Hughes. The series is produced by Magic Light Pictures; Vici King is the Producer. The show is expected to launch on Sky Kids UK in October 2023.
“With beloved characters Pip and Posy looking at early educational concepts in their joyful way, as well as the innovative new [ASMR] format of Look, See, Wow! which explores the world in a sensory way, these new shows for our youngest viewers and their families will bring a sense of wonder and delight to learning,” said Murphy.

NEW LICENSING DEALS FOR MAGIC LIGHT PICTURES’ PIP AND POSY
London – Monday 23rd January, 2023 – BAFTA-winning and Oscar-nominated production company Magic Light Pictures has announced two exciting new licensing deals for its hugely popular pre-school series Pip and Posy it was announced today, Monday, January 23rd.
The deals will see Pip and Posy sign up with specialist children’s licensed apparel supplier Blues Group for a delightful range of daywear, and with Aykroyds and TDP for a snug range of nightwear, plus, underwear and swimwear. Both ranges will be launching in time for Spring Summer 2024, coinciding with World Book Day.
In addition, Pip and Posy will be joining Channel 5’s preschool strand Milkshake! favourites to bring their special brand of play to the UK’s largest holiday park operator Parkdean Resorts throughout 2023. Pip and Posy will be a key part of the holiday parks’ special ‘Milkshake! Mornings’, a series of live entertainment shows featuring arts and crafts, games, singalongs, and dancing, held across 40 of Parkdean’s sites.

Pip and Posy, the hit preschool series from multiple Oscar-nominated Magic Light Pictures, has been recommissioned for a second season of 52 x 7’ episodes to debut in early 2023 on Milkshake! on Channel 5 and Sky Kids and NOW in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Pip and Posy is the first joint co-production between Paramount and Sky and the show launched to acclaim in March 2021.
Series 2 will build on the success of the first series, which is one of the top rated shows on Milkshake! (3 million viewers since launch). Pip and Posy has also seen significant growth across its own social media platforms on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook.
Magic Light has sold the show worldwide, securing major international broadcast partners including ZDF (Germany), FTV (France), RAI Yoyo (Italy), ABC (Australia), SVT (Sweden), Hop! Last 2019, Milkshake! pledged to double its content investment, which will lead to 50 new U.K.-originated hours per year from 2021.
Sky Kids offers families 11 kids’ channels and over 5,000 episodes of on-demand viewing as well as the Sky Kids app, a safe space for younger kids focused content, games and art tools with parental controls including a sleep mode so parents can moderate screen time. This is complemented by the pin protected Safe Mode on Sky Q, so there’s no danger of children straying into any areas of content that are not right for them.

The series deals with emotions, resilience and feelings in a relatable way for pre-schoolers to learn about themselves, all centered on creative play from a child’s point of view.
The real-world purpose of the programme is to show pre-schoolers how to forge strong friendships for life.

A free-thinking, daydreaming squirrel. In tune with nature, Jamila is the most likely to climb a tree or scour the path for rocks to add to her collection. She enjoys playing with her friends, but can often be off in her own world or talking to her favourite worm, Victoria. When she does hit the nail on the head and solve a problem, it’s usually without even realising!

An observant cat, kind and a huge help to others, Frankie is slightly older and more mature than her friends. This makes her the most emotionally engaged of them all and she’s always ready with a reassuring hand when a friend needs it. With her strong sense of right and wrong and fair play, she’s the one the others turn to for a final decision if the group disagrees.

Irrepressible terrier pup Zac has no filter and certainly no ‘inside voice’! He can come across a touch blunt or insensitive at times, but he means well and is always great fun. Quite competitive, he loves a challenge – he just has to dig the biggest hole or build the tallest sandcastle! Zac doesn’t have the longest attention span, but he tackles everything with joy and positivity.

A loveable and sociable rabbit, Pip is naturally curious with an infectious sense of fun. Focused and methodical, he’s great at coming up with games to play; and he loves the imagination and silliness that his best friend Posy brings to them.
Pip likes to be organised – he’s much tidier than Posy! – and can get a bit frustrated and even sulky when things don’t turn out as planned. However it doesn’t take much to restore his fun-loving good nature, especially when it’s Posy doing the cheering up. In turn he’s always quick to try and help his friends.
Pip loves his toys too, and treats them with care – especially Piggy!

An enthusiastic and easy-going mouse with a fondness for creative play, Posy has a vivid imagination. Always inventive, she takes the everyday and turns it into an adventure – like making a shoe box into a pirate’s galleon on the Seven Seas. Sometimes though her imagination can run away with her and lead to tall tales that land her in hot water! Posy’s ability to improvise makes her huge fun to be with.
Posy likes to have someone to share her enthusiasm with – preferably her best friend Pip. She loves to make him laugh, while her creativity helps him to see things from different perspectives. Impulsive and easily distracted, Posy tends to hop from one exciting game to the next, leaving a trail of discarded toys in her wake.
She does have a favourite toy, though: Froggy – if she can find him among her mess!

ViacomCBS and Sky announced their first co-production partnership on Wednesday (18th March 2020), teaming up for the CG-animated preschool series Pip and Posy. The show will premiere exclusively on Channel 5’s free-to-air strand Milkshake! and Sky’s on-demand service Sky Kids in the U.K. Multiple Oscar-nominated Magic Light Pictures (The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom, Revolting Rhymes and recent hit The Snail and The Whale) is producing, with animation services provided by Blue Zoo (Digby Dragon, It’s Pony).
Pip and Posy (52 x 7-minute episodes) follows a mouse and a rabbit whose lives revolve around a wonderful world of play. The series deals with emotions, resilience and feelings in a relatable way for preschoolers to learn about themselves, all centred on creative play from a child’s point of view.
Currently in production, the series is based on characters from Nosy Crow’s popular collection of story books by multi award-winning illustrator Axel Scheffler and author Camilla Reid. Pip and Posy is Magic Light’s first ever preschool series and sees the continuation of the production company’s 13 year association with Scheffler, which has produced seven high-profile animated specials based on his hugely successful book collaborations with author Julia Donaldson.
Pip and Posy will premiere on Milkshake! and be available on demand on Sky Kids in early 2021. It will then also air on Nick Jr. a year later.

Pip and Posy has been jointly commissioned by Bucknole for Milkshake! and Murphy for Sky Kids with the participation of ZDF, Germany. The series is executive produced by Michael Rose and Martin Pope and produced by Vici King for Magic Light Pictures. The showrunner at Magic Light is Jeroen Jaspaert (Stick Man, The Highway Rat) and Blue Zoo’s director is Matthew Tea.
Magic Light Pictures holds the global distribution and merchandising rights to Pip and Posy (excluding publishing) and is developing a full licensing program to complement the new series.
Last year, Milkshake! pledged to double its content investment, which will lead to 50 new U.K.-originated hours per year from 2021.
Sky Kids offers families 11 kids’ channels and over 5,000 episodes of on-demand viewing as well as the Sky Kids app, a safe space for younger kids focused content, games and art tools with parental controls including a sleep mode so parents can moderate screen time. This is complemented by the pin protected Safe Mode on Sky Q, so there’s no danger of children straying into any areas of content that are not right for them.
